i was watching the trailer and the thing looked surrealistically odd for some reason.. and then i realised why... some will say its kinda pointless to create cgi characters that look almost identical to the actors, but i found that it gave it a really unique dream-like/fantasy feeling too it, that you just wouldnt get with real actors... definately an interesting look, and im totally looking forward too it.

robert zemeckis needs to stop with CGI, polar express was so much crap and i'm pretty sure this will turn out to be crap too.

PE was fine unless u are older than 12
this looks ok, however not even good enough as japs woud've done it with same budget
at least Angelina has nice body in this one, unlike in real life

"This is sparta!"
"Tonight, we dine in hell!"
"Roma victor!"

I also think fisk should be unbanned.

I bet it won't be better than Beowulf & Grendel, that one at least had great cinematograpy, without any CG effects and, above all, insanely cool Grendel in it.

Nothing wrong with lots of macho shouting. It's not as if 300 invented it, Braveheart had it's fair share.

In my opinion it was excellent. It's getting favorable reviews overall, with a 71% overall rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Personally I thought they did a great job adapting a tale as disjointed as the Beowolf poem to the big screen. The deviations from the original narrative were a necessary evil, which some people see fit to cry their hearts out over. Just like the Iliad, a direct conversion to the big screen would have made for an absurd and inaccessible movie. Some tales only work in the form of an epic poem.
