Hi guys i have a prob i install the game and i wont to play and he writes me:
Access Violation (Illegal Write)

I got it to work using the thread from the pc games section. Just erase Resolution.cfg It worked for me

Well, i think there is no resolution.cfg until first time start. So thats no help for us.

Its a big help. It has helped me and a lot of others with the same error as the initial poster. That problem occur when you start the game the first time but if you cant even do that, you have another problem which - of course - needs another solution.

same prob here, i start it up, goes to black screen, then out back to the desktop, i reinstalled my vid drivers and directx but still no good, bad crack maybe?

Hmmm. What's your system specs? I remember the demo wasn't working for some.

my specs are 1.6 ghz duron, 256 MB ram, geforce fx 5200 it should work, but it doesnt =/

Anyone heard anything about how to fix the access violation you get before starting the game the very first time (so that there is no resolution.cfg to delete)? Doesn't get that first advertising screen even, just the black 1024x768 window and then a windows error (not the "save big dump / save small dump" one)? Bad crack that only gives some people this?

ok when i start this game the screen turns black and then returns back to the desktop without an error...

I've found a solution to the Access violation problem. Enable DXT texture support. It was disabled in Ati tray tools, dunno why.

it's strange that so many people seem to have problems with this game..
works for me:
XP Professional with SP1
DX 9.0C
Catalyst 4.9
R9600Pro
XP2000+
Nforce2 mobo
I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad, The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had.

The crack works, but it could work better. You still cannot change resolution.

I had the same problem as everyone else with starting the game. I erased the resolution.cfg, and the game started. When I start playin everything turns gray eventually.. (it looks good at first but then deteriorates) then my computer crashes. I think the crack needs some refining or something
Im runnin a nvidia GeForce 4200go, according to THQ website this card is supported.

Same here...it "is" a Bad Crack...A "fixed" one can be found at the usual places. Works fine now. Also I had problems having EAX checked, had to uncheck it.

More info: If you get an Access Violation error it might help to uninstall SP2 (which is just a piece of crap anyway). Worked for my buddy.
