Do NOT turn this into a political debate! Talk about the game, its content and its themes as a work of fiction. Any breech of this in future will lead to an instant perm ban, no matter who you are.

I've just installed it so I'll get back with a few words. First serial (one I tried anyway) for the private license is misspelled in the NFO. If you have half a brain you'll notice what's wrong with it.

EDIT: After having played a little of the first mission, it seems to be a rather simple game, that is targeted towards people with interest in journalims and global events. You basically have control of a journalist, following certain missions. For example, the first one has you following the Israeli Defence Force as they raid a house of a possible terrorist. Via the usual multiple-choice dialogs as to what to say (you don't do much, just discuss), you can either earn the trust or lose it from the people you talk to, while at the same time trying to get the truth out and some valuable quotes for your final article. What quotes you'll pick, which subjects you'll have to ask more on and what perspective your final article should have is based on which paper you decide to write for. There are 3 available, an Israeli, a Palestinian and a neutral European one. Before the missions you can do various errands for Israeli and Palestinian people to earn their trust, meaning your job talking to others later on will be easier.

It's up to you to trust whomever you want, be friendly and critical at the same time, and make the final article.

So that's for what's the main idea about. Graphically it doesn't say much really, but it's an independent game, and there's more to it than Graphics. Gameplay-wise, everything is in the story and the events you watch as well as your decisions during your conversations, you aren't able to influence the events, you just follow them. In two words, you move and talk, not much else in terms of actions. Sound wise the game is really poor, lacking any music and sound effects for the most part.

As I said, if you're interested in journalism and the particular events, try the game, otherwise you'll soon be bored by its lack of actual action.

EDIT 2: To answer the question of a previous member about the world, it is relatively small. You are able to walk freely around it, however the only reason you'll want to do that is to get from one person to the other. The errands of a person in Jerusalem in the first mission are two, to get a letter to his girlfriend and to talk to the local council regarding a water issue in a village. Both of them just require you to walk, grab a cab, go and meet the other person and talk to them, not much more. Before the first mission the game has 4 characters you can talk to around the 3 parts you can walk in. As I said, the world is there just to be there, it serves no other purpose rather than make you walk around it and find the other person you're supposed to talk to. The main environments are 3, but I guess that every mission has its separate environment making for 8(?) more.

3 or 4 minutes, since you asked. *sigh* Was that supposed to be smart? I'm just pointing out something that may not be so obvious to some, without giving out the actual serial and getting banned.

And why wouldn't schools buy the game? If you read my mini-review you'll find out how it could help students judge biased opinions and learn to pick the truth for themselves by asking the opinion of several parties and not just trusting the first person they come along. Plus, it wouldn't hurt putting some neutral perspective in such a big issue such as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

If you look around most threads have a person that has downloaded the game and provided a mini-review, I always check out NForce before downloading any game. Even Dracula got a mini-review around... Poor Spykez, risking his mental health for the better of us.

I know no school is going to do it, but saying this game is educational is a correct statement, and although it's unprobable that it shall happen, when and if a school becomes open-minded regarding the educational role of certain games, games like Global Conflicts could help teach a thing or two. Educational games go far from "Learn English with Yugo the Dinosaur" nowadays.

Looks to be a CD originally, there's a patch out for it and of course 2 different ones.

We get alot of biased games already that shove down stupid ideology down our throats by the boatload (e.g.nearly every american military themed FPS), but those usually have a redeeming factor in the game-play. In you review it rather seems that there is non of that here, or was it "fun" to play it for you and how was the overall "tone" of the stories (bias towards either idf or terrorists)?

As I mentioned, it's not a game that has "fun", "cool" or "satisfying" gameplay for the mainstream audience. It's targeted to people who like journalism and care about global issues. If you don't care for both of those, then you're better off skipping the game.

In my opinion, the thing that is really there just to be there as a feature is the city. Although small, it seems too big and too boring, as you have nothing interesting to do or see while you're running through the streets in bird's eye view going to the next person you need to talk.

i usually like roleplaying games, but it doesnt sound that interesting if you only run from a to b to talk to people. I guess it depends on how captivating the game is portraied via the ingame-cinematics then and how biased the stories are told. I ll skip it for now me thinks,so thanx for the review and the quick answers =)
