Beside the fact that you get DX10, is it true the 7900 GTX yields more fps? I've noticed the 8800 got 500 MHz, while the 9700 got 650 MHz. Is it true to even compare between the two?

Disregard leo. It depends what you want really. 7900GTX isn't much slower than the 640MB GTS. So you won't be missing a lot but you also won't have DX10...which isn't worth anything lol. But price of a 7900GTX isn't much cheaper than the GTS's so I would still go with a GTS instead.
you can test cards here... Link
Check the cards in blue for comparison, not much difference.

You are asking wrong question. You should ask Should i get 8800gts or ati 1950. I would say if you have cash and dont care get 8800. If you dont have cash get 1950. Dont even consider 7900 unless you are blind fanboy, and if you are then ignore my post.

Ohhh, he used a naughty word....tsk tsk.
As for saying the same thing, I showed facts and sheets and both why their good, instead of the fanboy respnse "8800 better any day"
I'll really love the day you don't act like such a knob head when answering someones question from an unbiased perspective rather than using some dumb claims. Over FPS doesn't prove anything. Do the individual test to get the idea where they lie. There games where the GTS only did a couple FPS higher than the 7900, but you wouldn't know that by looking at that chart you posted.

Yeah, you'd know it better by looking at the Doom 3 charts instead...
Every engine Tom's have in their comparisons is outdated. UE3 is heavily optimized for the 8800s and not even one game can be found in those charts. So I chose the best from what is there, overall.

When I tried that (recently it was with CoreAVC and LCD selection), you still disregarded me. Why? Because the facts (proven, of course) didn't fit your stupid biased opinions. So I just choose to answer the short way. Plus you know I'm lazy and horny, so less typing = more pr0n in the freezer (you know what I'm talking about).

Im happy for you but you should really stop with drug abuse. | Haven't taken any "real"drugs for over 5 years now. And ATI is a lost cause, just give it up man, you know it and it hurts, deal with it.

Cmon captain, your better than that. ATI latley has been bad but they've had their share of punching nvidia in the face just like AMD did with Intel. I'm a fan of nVidia myself but I don't rule out the fact that when ATI comes back and kills nvidia with something everyone will either dismiss it cause their fanboys or they'll say nvidia sucks and switch over. ATI still has a cause, to bring the prices down on nvidia's end. What happens if ATI goes out, nvidia doesn't have to drop prices cause no one else will release something as good. ATI messed up big by waiting for so long to get a card out to compete with the 8 series that they lost a lot of people and they had a HORRIBLE launch with their drivers when they finally did get something out.

You all assume I am asking what card I should buy, but that is not the case. I happen to have these two cards in my possession, and I'm just wondering which is faster while disregarding the obvious DX10 advantage.

See SkypeZ, no need for long talk. The following quote answers the man's question.
