F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault and Recon) is a
first-person close-quarters combat game for the PC.
The story begins when a paramilitary force infiltrates
a multi-billion dollar aerospace compound, and the
government responds by sending in Special Forces. The
group loses contact with the government when an eerie
signal interrupts radio communications--and when that
interference subsides moments later, the team has been
destroyed. That's where you come in. As part of a
classified strike team created to deal with threats no
one else can handle, your mission is simple: eliminate
the intruders at any cost, determine the origin of the
signal, and contain the potential crisis before it
gets out of control.

patched and ready to burn. Just load in your favorite
burning program that will either load the .dvd file or
let you speficy the layer break at 1913760. We
recommend using clone-cd. And of course, the PFI, DMI,
and SS bins are all included for those who only need
to patch a F.E.A.R. image.

Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong ?
I've downloaded FEAR, unpacked the rars to get the ISO file, I've then burnt it with cloneCD (having to choose .image instead of using clone cd image file), the same way as I have done to back-up all my originals (which all work fine), but the disc won't boot in my 360. I have a Hitachi v47 drive with OPA 2.1 firmware. I only have problems booting anything from downloaded games, and not from original rips.
Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong as the ISO seems ok as people are saying they have tested / played it (the nig version which I have).
I'm also using verbatim discs.

You need to use the .dvd file to add the layer break information, otherwise the disk wont boot.

I doubt it, but I do not know for sure. I know the .dvd file contains the image file name, so you will at least need to change this, as for the layer break value, I don't know if it is generic. I have no problem with someone posting the contents of the file though, as a .dvd contains no illegal material.
edit: I'm told all layer break values are generic, so changing the image name within any .dvd file should work fine.

Are there any tutorials on creating .dvd files from the downloaded iso files, as I am new to downloading games? it seems that they are available or able to be created from iso file as people are testing / playing the game on their pal machines, sorry to sound dense but any guidance would be really appreciated..

Its simply a text document.. Do you have another .dvd file from a previous XBOX360 release? If so, open it in notepad, you should see two lines of information:
LayerBreak=1913760
IMAGENAME.iso
You need to change whatever "IMAGENAME" says to match the .iso file you are trying to burn, in this case it should be something like.. nig-fear.iso.. So the contents of your .dvd file should look as follows..
LayerBreak=1913760
nig-fear.iso

This game looked miles better on my old Radeon 9800XT than it does on the 360. It's weird looking. Very flat. It's almost like they completely forgot to add any textures. Looks piss poor in my opinion. It just like an HD xbox 1 game.
