Ok, I´m getting this error when I start Ep2: MountAppFilesystem() failed.
I created the shortcut as the nfo says and nothing. I always get the same error.
Ant ideas?
Thanks

My problem is fixed. I just deleted the folder of the game, and extracted again. Make sure you just click the extract to button without any file selected.

i had this problem too. To fix it i just re-extracted it, but this time i didn't open .r00 file. I opened .rar file as the first one and it worked with no fixes needed.

Half Life 2 Episode Two FIX READNFO-ViALUK
Half.Life.2.Episode.Two.FIX.READNFO-ViALUK2
hi amigo!
so here we are after a period of inactivity with another rls.
oh yeeeha and it's the fucking hl2ep2...
blah, blah
extract teh archives, copy the extracted files to your hl2ep2
dir. run the game by running start.bat
this fix, fix teh errors...that you have so, it not modifies
game content, only thhe executable file and we
put there a bin dir with a dx9 dll and a steam dll...
the exe is for accepting the .bat parameters so you need to
overwrite it! there is nothing modified!

can you explain how you managed to get it to run?
Also tried to ViALUK thingy, didn't go either. I'm so happy i completely abandonned PC gaming for a console, crap like that is really way to annoying...

That was uncalled for. I've been playing games on PC for a good 10 years now. I know how it works. I can't even recall how many times I had problems with PC games, bad cracks, missing textures, crashes, hardware upgrades, driver updates and so on, doesn't seem worth the trouble anymore. All I wanted now was to play this game as i played the previous ones and it just confirms that PC games are a pain in the ass.
Compare how many people has PC game issues and how many have console issues, you'll understand what I'm talking about. I don't want to start a console vs pc war here and I'm just expressing an opinion. If for you playing a game on a console without messing with everything means you have a low IQ, well yeah, I guess you're right...

Funny thing here is im PC user for around 15y. Have collection of about 1k games and all worked from start or with crack fix which was out the same day. Strange shit huh? Maybe they work because i build my PC myself? Nah that doesnt make any sense. Its more likely i know how to use my PC so everything works like its meant to work. People have issues with PCs i know. I made topic about that in Bitching session. You are more the welcome to check it. The topic title is Are pc users getting retarded? I think i got my answer what you think? Here is the link so you dont need to look for it. http://www.nfohump.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=38396

Think whatever you want. Because a game doesn't work it means I'm retarded... I get all my other cracked games to work, this one gives an error and all you can think of is calling me a retard. If you're so smart, how do I solve this issue. Let's see if you know the solution if you're so damn smart...

Code: | Engine Error:
IVP Failed at C:\dev\staging\src\ivp\ivp_utility\ivu_vhash.cxx 157 |
This is the ERROR that I get after loading a map in HL2:EP2 ... I played a few levels with no problem. Haven't installed any new drivers, software etc..
Vista x64, AMD X2, 8800GTX, drivers 163.75.
What is this IVP anyway ? Is there any solution to this problem ?

Solved. I added -novid to the shortcut and it works fine now.
"D:\HLEP2\half-life 2 episode two\hl2.exe" -steam -game ep2 -novid
