I'm not sure about you guys, but this is a sad day for me
I use this site all the time and they're a great gamer-related file repository ... now, unfortunately, it looks like it's closing down.

Dear FileFront User:
We regret to inform you that due to the current economic conditions we are forced to indefinitely suspend the FileFront site operations on March 30, 2009. If you have uploaded files, images or posted blogs, or if you would like to download some of your favorite files, please take this opportunity to download them before March 30th when the site will be suspended.

My hopes are that this is an April Fools gag that, accidentally, made its way public.

Thanks for the heads up Epsilon. It's not the first time I mix up the two(FileFront & Fileplanet).
Still a shame, anyway. I know that at least the ES community already started to save all the mods on the site.
And the Xtreme-G driver guys will have to find another place to host their drivers.

Can't say I used it much, it always gave me that bullshit message 'can't download' or something but when I used hotspot shield or proxy stuff then it worked, it has, or it had, something against Croatians

Didn't use it much, download speeds were always shoddy.
But a big site none the less.
R.I.P filefront.....

WHAT!?
NOOOO!
godfuckingdammit!
it was the only fucking gamefile site i could go to and not feel like walking into an assraping prison
they actually offered good service, not forcing assfaced fake queues or registration on us, but let us do what we came there for, and they fucking did it better and more clearly than any site either
say i want a patch for a game, i put it in the search field and *gasp* it finds it and allows me to download it directly, without unintuitive misleading pages or requests.. i guess it was too good to be true, eh?
in my fantasy world filefront would merge into what 3dgamers was at it's height at the early years of the decade

the site brings a lot of profit and I don't see it related to the current economy condition so it's probably an april fool, they tend to do this before april of course

It may be a joke, mainly because they say the site is shutting down at the 30th. That's way too soon to be real I think. I don't know, if it's April 1st joke then it's very distasteful (and they are fucktards)

Too soon to be real? Just like Stage6 when it was announced on February 25th that it will be shut down on February 28th? That was a joke alright.

i remember file planet, how complicated was to download anything, their fees and stuff, but when i ended with file front that was the shit right there, efficient site, fast and reliable. well there is only 1 left for me gamershell, other than that free info on any other site is pretty hard to find.

The original founders bought back Filefront from Ziff Davis so it will be sticking around.
