The truth is that 5 is better than 4 with more cars, slightly better graphics and controls and of course 1 camera more(yes the old far camera is back).
Bad is only sf3 and that codemasters could have improved the graphics

Richard Burns rally is so much better, in Colin your just playing a game where the aim is to get the fastest time by powersliding around the track at practically full speed. In RBR your tense, fighting for the cars stability and taking corners as fast as you possibly can without pushing it over the edge. Tracks are busy and dangerous, you can't ever relax - got to stay focused even on a long straight because of all the bumps, nooks and debris that can and will get in your way.

It also has physics unlike another game I know...

You need a wheel and pedals for RBR however, preferably with force-feedback for that full effect.

nope..can't be more wrong then You are my friend Wink
if You want REAL RALLY EXPERIENCE, as You call it, one should get a PROPER RALLY CAR Laughing hehe

no wheel will ever substitue that...
and Yes - RBR has dynamics very much similar to V-Rally 2 or 3 Very Happy
since i do not owe a steering-wheel and i do not see the purpose of buying one i can make such comparisons Smile

get well Razz

It's definitely out to buy here in England - I was holding a copy in my hands earlier today. I can't confirm what copy-protection it's using but after ToCA RD2, I'd assume it's using SF3 Pro. Hopefully not, but I reckon we'd be kidding ourselves Wink

True, I have just bought the game and should soon come here. The GT Force Pro wheel rocks! I hope this game uses it well.

I think GTR will be a tad better then these run of the mill racing games. Anyone remember Rally Masters? IMHO still the best rally game. Just like Rally Masters, created by Digital Illusions that whent on to make Battlefield 1942, GTR is also made by Swedes.

Just my oppinion, move on!

lol, why do you hope for him?

Is that the Logitech wheel with 900 degrees of rotation? I think that will work quite well as on the PS2 that is the main wheel of choice, it's going to be the flagship for GT4 I believe.
I have the MOMO Racing myself, and it is quite amazing how much resistance and feedback you get - it's not perfect, but what you expect from a videogame.

Hit a dink in the road going at fast speeds and watch yourself fight for your life Very Happy

Rally Masters was the best, but that stands for no longer as RBR outclasses it now with a much more truer rallying experience.
GTR is going to be class, but that's a different kettle of fish (?) to a rallying game such as RBR - I personally don't think it's fair to compare really.

As for CMR, it boasts increased realism and even says it's better and more realistic than RBR - which I had to laugh at, but then it all made sense when before Race Driver 2 was released they said it was better than Live for Speed and the best realistic simulation on the market... which it clearly wasn't... lol!!

My hope for the Colin series are totally wrecked since colin 3, 2004, and now 2005. Try Richard Burns Rally, THATS a realistic/FUN rallygame.

All damn colin games use the old old z-axis way to turn the car, thats why it appears to "float" even on tarmac, the only thing they use 4-point physics for are the visuals, i cant possibly understand why since 4-point physics in racinggames have been the clear standard ever since Rallymasters. And not to mention that all the Race Driver games (all 2 lol) have something odd about their feeling, i wonder what shithead programmer Codemasters have, fire him NOW! Every single Codemasters cargame is so odd somehow, lol sorry im ranting but seriously, if you dont know what 4-point physics etc is, just compare the colin games to richard burns rally, you'll notice it.
Instead of the 1990 way of having the game base its turn arond 1 single axis, middleline in the center of the car, like a banana on a stick, it uses, like almost ALL racing games theseday use, one physics"engine" per wheel.

I HATE COLIN, lol sry but fuck, if i save even 1 of you from the horrible marketing-scam that is colin, and turn you on torwards NORMAL good games like richard burns or even old old rallymasters, it's worth your counter-flames. amen ;D

I'm really looking forward to the next RBR, if only they make a pc exclusive and have uber high res textures. cmr really needs to go back to the drawing board and start from scratch, seems like they are only tweaking cmr03 controls instead of throwin it where it belongs... the trash can!

hrmmmm...

RBR is simulation rally, unplayable without pad or wheel ( i wasn't able to complete basic rally school without pad or wheel), intended to rally enthusiasts.
CMR is arcade rally with LAN multiplayer ('04 & '05) and easy to play, intended to people who just want to play for fun.

both game types have their own qualities that make the game good.

As for myself, when im alone and/or serious i play RBR, and when i'm with group of ppl we usually play CMR because its easy enough for beginners.

in LAN games we can't really arque? CMR has 8 plr LAN capability, while RBR has 4 plr Hotseat. Well ofcourse we can, but my opinion is that hotseat is no "true" multiplayer.

All opinions in this reply are my own, please do not go -> over those. And i do not know anything about these games in other platforms than PC.
