Actually tom's hardware did some testing on the x38 and turns out some things(overclocking as a big one) are actually far more limited on the board than on the p35. And pcie2 bandwidth shouldnt really be needed until later down the line. So yeah, I am thinking the p35 board is the way to go, especially with x38 prices expected to be at least 100usd more than p35 counterparts.
Of course still waiting and watching for AMD to make its big 'comeback' with Phenom at the end of the quarter. Hey, miracles do happen. And if they do knock it out of the park, and the price is right, might just go back to the underdog team. It sure is about freakin time for them to make something decent again.
But yeah if you already got a core2duo chip, go with a p35.
