Hi,

IS P35 best/latest mobo chipset to buy? Does P35 work with SLI?
I already bought Intel core2duo chip.

Which mobo do you recommend? P35 or something else?

Thanks!

The P35 doesn't do the -imho pointless- SLI, it is all great but is currently being remplaced by the latest intel X38 chipset. Rather have a look at boards with that one, ofc take the P35 if they are too expensive.

Otherwise i bought a GA-P35C-DS3R P35 board from gigabyte and am i very pleased with it. Wink

Actually tom's hardware did some testing on the x38 and turns out some things(overclocking as a big one) are actually far more limited on the board than on the p35. And pcie2 bandwidth shouldnt really be needed until later down the line. So yeah, I am thinking the p35 board is the way to go, especially with x38 prices expected to be at least 100usd more than p35 counterparts.

Of course still waiting and watching for AMD to make its big 'comeback' with Phenom at the end of the quarter. Hey, miracles do happen. And if they do knock it out of the park, and the price is right, might just go back to the underdog team. It sure is about freakin time for them to make something decent again.

But yeah if you already got a core2duo chip, go with a p35.

OK. So P35 = No SLi.
SLi is not really needed anyways. So P35 seems to be best all around, without SLi.
Thanks!

Oops yeah i missed this review, they seem to ignore that there will actually be motherboards with both DDR2 and DDR3 slots, also that foxconn will add SLI support on some of their x38 boards, but overall the p35 is still the way to go for its price and overclock capacities. Smile
