im sure they'll have you drugged up to the point you won't feel much, it's the after effects that will hurt.

But since they messed up don't they have to pay for everything?

Ive had a couple root canals done in the last 6 months...didnt really hurt. The dentist gave me a few freezing needles and the gas and i was fine. It ached a bit afterward, but not to bad

I dont understand why people say it hurts so much. Gettng a cavity filled hurts way more imo

I have a fake tooth as well, one of my front ones. Been missing for about 15 years so I don't really notice it anymore, except for the fact that it doesn't stain (or match) my other teeth Razz

It depends on how bad your condition is, the worse the tooth is, the deeper the dentist has to clean and the worse the pain gets.

my one tooth, the one right before your wisdom teeth, was black and blue...litterally. They scraped out all the dead and infected tooth, did the root canal, filled it up and that was it.
I got like 5 oxy's...i took em, but not because of pain Smile

not that I remember, but 28 - 15 years is a long time ago (plus I wasn't really that 'tough' at 13) Wink It's the best tooth in my mouth, doesn't chip or stain Razz

The pain you might feel depends VERY MUCH on the skill of the dentist. Some of them really don't know crap and you end up feeling a lot of pain despite the anaesthetic. If the dentist is skilled then you got nothing to worry. Has he 'worked' on you before? Razz

The most difficult part is the anaesthetic because how and where it's administered determines how much pain you'll feel from the needle and the subsequent excavation. Done right and pain will be the least of your concerns. The noise and the smell will be much more irritating. Sad

And the implant will feel strange because it will have a smooth surface. And even more so because you'll be feeling it all the time with your tongue. It's not like you'll feel heat or cold any more than before because the nerve endings will have been removed. And please resist the temptation to think that just because the implant is 'titanium' you can now crush anything with that tooth. Very Happy

same, or just the half tho. The root survived tho, about 1-2mm from the nerve, so I got it rebuilt. Ever seen how it look under UV light. That is fucking scary Razz Found out at town one day when a guy was like "WTF happend to your tooth" Razz

compubrain3000, I know a family member and a friend who have had entire tooth implants done, they are not "tough" by any means, and they said it was nothing. Smile

That is what I mean. They freeze it and you shouldn't feel anything. Some discomfort after. Some pain and you take a pain killer. Maybe something a bit stronger for dental work like that. But you shouldn't be in agony.
