lately my 360[ hitachi drive] started scratching copied games all the time and at the end gives me unreadable disk error, never scratched original ones altho i only have about 2 or 3 of them

however scratches not deep but probably coz of the shitty lazer it has [too sensitive] it fails to read

funny thing is not all of them srcatched, burned Amped 3 about a year ago which is in perfect condition Surprised
btw console is in horizontal postion and i never move it during gameplay

does not matter which media, both verbs and platinums getting scratched for no apparent reason, i even added rubber pads



and it's still scratches, wtf?

conducted test with changing position while disk spinning and no scratches, so i'm completely lost here Confused

is there any possibility that m$ added some kinda hack that will recognize copied games and scratch them deliberately, i know that it's sounds ridiculous but still Razz

anyone else with similiar problems

lol, really doubt that. You have had a flashed 360 for about a year, and all of a sudden this happens? read something similar at xbox scene. Check their forum ^^

And how badly are they scratched, post a pic... well, doesnt really matter if you get dirty disk error :\

it could come with dash update, who knows
after all nobody still knows how they detect if u playing copies or not when u get banned
i had some really minor scratches before like if u rub a bit and they are fixed, but recently disks getting scratched badly, still not as bad as this



but they become unreadable at some point and reburning them is xtra pain in the ass [ this proves that cheap ass almost 4 yo nec dvd burner has better lazer quality, coz i can rip scratched disks with no problems] which i would rather avoid, altho i doubt my crappy phone cam will manage to capture that

Not at the same spot either. Looks random too me. It might be because of Platinum DLs? Or did it happen when you was like "zomfg only verbs!!!1" too?

one strange thing i noticed that if i run demo from disk it will go ultra quite and won't spin like regulair version of the game, why is that i wonder Rolling Eyes

Some guys from NL have confrontated (sp?) MS with that. They videotaped a brad new 360, a brad new game scratching games. MS said it was impossible. Just seems like some people are unlucky :\

But this happens all of a sudden.. your hitatchi might have been a ticking bomb. But yeah, it is FUCKING strange it doesnt happen to all games, espessaly old games. Maybe it just happens to prepatched games you burn?

no has nothing to do with stealth patch, just some random scratching

played VF5 for couple of days and it got scratched so it gives me errors time after time, usually when disk stops spinning completely

where Jericho works flawlessly with no srcatches at all

funny thing is scratches not as deep as shown on picture above, in fact they are barely visible

pos cheap quality lazers Mad , would like to castrate personally whoever chosed drives for this damn console Evil or Very Mad

I have an unmoded 360 laying horizontally, and it will scratch a disc once in a while. When it was vertical it would happen more often. POS drives are to blame.

well no shit found another dutch video [with subs] that actually shows that drives missing fkng rubber on their lazers which causes scratches
