Quote: | TV-Links (now dead) is a site which links to sites like Google Video and YouTube, which host clips of TV shows. Today, the Gloucestershire County Council, in association with a group called the FACT, raided the site’s servers and arrested the 26 year old man from Cheltenham who ran the site.
A man is now in prison because he runs a site where other people can link to low-resolution tv shows, hosted by Google. FACT did not raid Google, they raided a site which merely links to TV shows. |
didnt use it to much myself but it came in useful when i was bored, sad to see it gone and they arent bothered about going after the sites that actually hosted the videos often for many months without removing them.
its like me making an ftp server claiming its only for user made videos and game demos but people upload copyrighted videos and full games and i turn a blind eye to it , then instead of going after the people providing the content ( me) they go after someone who only has links to it.
maybe someone should tell them the google search engine has links to all kinds of illegal material if u simply type in "torrent XXXXXX"

It's a classic bully move. Go after the weaker person and it gives the impression that they're actually doing something to stop piracy.

Eventually, I truly think media (games, movies, tv shows etc) will be free for the consumer.
Or in the least, the pirate community will never die. Never. Im all for free access to media and information
