Edit: SHIT! Wrong forum! Can you please move it to General? Thanks!
Myself and my mom are thinking about taking a short trip in this part of Europe for a week or so. The flight prices to Munich are really cheap (about 200USD /person) so we were thinking about going there, tour a bit, take a car and go somewhere else, since there doesn't seem to be much to do there. Basically we can go anywhere we want to as long as we'll be back in Munich 5-7 days after we've landed. Found a few nice places in Austria, such as the town of Innsbruck - http://www.innsbruck.info/xxl/_lang/en/_site/innsbruck/index.html
We're not the people who enjoy museums very much. I like the country side much more than the big cities. Same with my mom, but she also likes hang out in the streets and buy things from all of these fancy shops in Europe. (Like all other women do)
Also, my mom is not the type of mountain climbers, there's no way we're going to do anything outside the regular paved roads
I really don't know about the area. So if any of you got anything to suggest, it would be great.
Last time I've been to Europe, it was in Italy, France and Switzerland and I really had some great time in the countrysides of these countries (I didn't like the big cities that much).
So think of something like that.
Thanks a lot!

Wiki had some good info on it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munich. It talks about the streets, areas, and parks.
I know you said you weren't into museums but I have a friend that went to The Deutsches Museum (German Museum) It is the world's largest museum of technology and science. He loved it. Had all these planes, machines. Things guy like he said.

If mom likes to walk the streets this seems to be a good spot for shopping and tourist things.

Marienplatz The Marienplatz is the traditional heart of Munich. Its Mariensäule (Marian column [3]) was built in 1638 as a reminder the city had been spared during Swedish occupation. It is not exceptionally different from any number of plague columns scattered around central Europe. What really draws a crowd on Marienplatz, though, is the Glockenspiel in the façade of the Neues Rathaus (New Town Hall). The summer tourist crowds gawk at the Glockenspiel figures enacting the Schäfflertanz (coopers' dance), a ritual originally performed to celebrate the end of the plague in Munich. The Rathaus was built in Flemish Gothic style between 1867 and 1908 by Georg Joseph Hauberissere. If you are interested in shopping, go here and follow the main shopping street down to Karlsplatz (Stachus), a major tram/U-Bahn/S-Bahn stop. Major chainstores, such as H&M can be found there.

For 600 years the Gasthof "Goldener Adler" has a long tradition of welcoming celebrities and notable persons in its historic walls: Johann Wolfgang Goethe, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Queen Juliana of the Netherlands, John Glenn just to name a few.

@X_Dror
When I go away, I try to google places and see what I come up with, and make my decisions from there.
I did that with my trip with my mom and aunt and they seemed interested. I printed out stuff as showed them. In the end tho we did what my aunt wanted, time was a huge factor plus they are older. I was pretty happy tho, I got to see some great things. I would of like to walked around a bit more and shopped by myself Sooo much MORE!!!
I hope your mom isn't an ego egocentric traveller.
Is she good to travel with? Do you 2 get along?

I wouldn't recommend going there. I saw a docu on tv recently about the Obersalzberg, seems like all the Nazis are traveling to it, it's like a pilgrims journey for them.

Dachau +1. And also Bürgerbräukeller, the pub where Hitler started the Beer Hall Putsch.

I've got a really important question about the weather and roads.
We are planning to go there in the beginning-middle of November, what's the weather in southern Germany/Austrian alps at that time of year? Is it snowing? Will the roads get blocked?
The thing is that we based our trip so far on the fact that we will be able to go anywhere we would want to with a rented car. But, the problem is that my mother is going to drive and she has no idea on how to drive on snow, (with or without chains) and she also don't want to get stuck in bad weather. We just almost never drive in really bad weather here in mountain roads and etc... Actually when it's snowing, no one is leaving their homes.
So it will be quite a problem if there's going to be any snow at all.

That's hard to predict, the last winters were extremely mild in Southern Germany. It also depends where you plan to go. There is a pretty good chance for snow if you cross the Alps in late November. It already snowed in some parts of Bavaria.
