So these are the first Benchmarks.
Looks pretty damn impressive for a midrange card, and it should go for only about 250$!
I suppose they'll all be sold out really quickly though, so if you want one you'll have to get it right when it comes out before they're all gone :p

pretty nice Tho I'll prob still go for the GTX or Ultra just so I know my card will last longer in the long run, then again I might just wait for that 9 series since my 7900GS KO is still playing most games on medium/high

gotta say thats pretty sexy.. and if 250 is an accurate price, id seriously almost concider getting 2 for sli (and before you rant on about how sli is a waste, im starting to see some real merit in it, in terms of trying to game at the 2560x1600 native res of my screen...)

indeed, SLI is usually not that much use because the cheaper midrange cards are often a whole lot slower than the highend ones and you can get one highend card for the price of 2 midrange cards.
and the highend card will actually be as fast as the 2 in SLI, but without the SLI problems that some games have.
here on the other hand, 2 of these babies should seriously kick the ass of a single GTX or Ultra.
Especially at high resolutions like chiv mentioned there. I for one am happy with playing stuff at 1280x1024 so I don't really need it but if you wanna play new games at huge resolutions, SLI is the way to go.
With performance like that, a single GT would probably still be wort it for 300-350$, considering it's better than the GTS 640mb which goes for around that price.

Don't know, when I was playing it, it used to run fine, so I think it's the benchmark is doing something wrong. I think it stresses the card way too much when compared to real gameplay.

Teh stress test in the game was pure bullshit, im on my 7900GS KO and ran the game on high with hardly any slow downs.

World in conflict raped the 320 and possibly this GT because of a memory bug in the Nvidia drivers.

if your using the x64 like I was you'll grow to hate it. Especially since vista doesn't let you use any other sound API other than it's own which in turn makes your sound sound like shit. I have an audigy zs 2 platnium that sounds gorgeous but in vista it was like I had a 5 dollar sound card with 20 year old speakers. Creative comes with a sound interface that overwrites the one in XP but vista doesn't allow it. That was my main reason for leaving, music is my life, I couldn't stand my music in it.

here's a nice detailed review of the 8800 GT over at anandtech.
http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3140&p=1
what an awesome card.. incredible performance for such a low price.
can't wait to get one... I'd love to get it right away but I think I'll have to wait for the revised 8800 GTS and the ATI offerings before I decide.
I just hope I can hold out that long, my 7900 GTX is getting old :-)
