From what I've read it seems that it is THE utility to get accurate temps but I'm seeing some discrepancies on my system. Core temp shows lower temperatures than what is reported in the bios or PCProbe. I guess pcprobe is reading the same temp as the bios but the question is which is the real temperature. I always thought that the temp in the bios was more reliable but now I've read that core temp uses some advanced digital temperature sensing to give more accurate results.
Anyone here use core temp and seen the same variance (about 8-9 degrees) in the temps with the bios temp?
Hmm, never heard that before. CoreTemp reads off of an internal diode, while most bios' read from outside the actual CPU core.
I read that too that core temp uses a different method for its readings than the bios. For me it's better if core temp is correct since it's showing lower temps but I just want to be sure. Don't want to end up with a really expensive keychain.
