Yeah, but not around here. Fires of any kind are a rarity around here. Dunno about where the crazy ass camel lives.

Dunno, somewhere deep in South California. San Diego looks about right, considering its so deep that you might as well call it Mexican territory. I just can't imagine a fire threatening a major city like San Diego, unless Kamel lives in the suburbs, but still even then......
I live waaaaay up North from there, an hour south of San Francisco, and over here wildfires are almost unheard of. So it was pretty fucking interesting when we got one |
San Diego is close to Mexico? I thought it was more North in the state.
I dont know alot about american geography tho

Nope. No geography here. We grow up ignorant of the world around us |
Thats seriously unbelieveable. Like, i believe you, but fuck...thats ridiculous. We have both Canadian Geo and World Geo....
I cant believe they dont teach that in the american education system
no wonder a buncha the population cant locate any place on a map....very sad and disturbing

yay im loved!!!
Most classes around here don't really teach much about the rest of the world either unless it's to do with history. And quite personally I don't care about whats going on in other countries...hell even my own, if it doesn't directly affect or involve me I don't really care. I didn't even know who our president was until like..a year after he got elected. Hell I don't even know who the mayor of my city is.

Ok, the fire is literally right over the hills from our house, we ditched all our cars and put what we can in one and we are making a run for it, cops are forcing everyone out my neighborhood due to the smoke and the fire potentially heading our direction.
The horizon is just orange, they say it's going to spread all the way to the coast.
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&time=&date=&ttype=&ie=UTF8&om=1&msa=0&msid=114250687465160386813.00043d08ac31fe3357571&ll=32.990236,-116.732483&spn=1.105782,1.757813&z=9&source=embed
That's a google map, if you dig around I'm on Black Mountain road west of the 15 freeway and just north of the 56 both of which have been closed, we are less then a mile from the RED zone where the fire is currently raging. The entire area is like those ZOMBIE movies, EVERYWHERE is empty and dead, few cars are cops in groups of 3 Crown Vics escorting people and or making sure no looting is going on.
This shit's pretty scary, and as of right now I'm outta here probably for the next few days. Already heard of a few friends houses going down, and friends buisness'.
Traffic is backed up for a few hours that's what 250,000 people do and all gas stations are PACKED, stores are closed or out of stock and it's just general mayhem where people are still around. Ambulances flying everywhere, tons of police, and stupid sight see'ers watching the flames. Ok well helicoptors repeating evacuation over-head gotta get outta here, sadly can't take the PC.
Wish me Luck.

when it rains it pours ...
Quote: | New fire breaks out in San Diego County
Associated Press - October 23, 2007 9:14 AM ET
SAN DIEGO (AP) - Officials say a new fire has broken out in San Diego County.
California Fire spokesman Captain Don Camp says the blaze broke out in a home on the La
Jolla Indian Reservation early this morning. He says the fire seems to have started inside the
home independently of any of the wildfires that are ravaging the region.
Camp says the new fire spread to the surrounding landscape and has now grown to 400
acres. The fire is heading up the east side of Palomar Mountain. No information yet on
whether this blaze has forced any evacuations. |
