what's the best available ICQ+Messenger client out there?

Everyone I know plus me uses trillian. The firs time user isn't so friendly but it's by far the best if you jsut like simple messangers. I get yelled at a lot by kids cause I can't see their stupid "custom special smileys" or people on super high version of MSN can't show me their webcam. I use messangers for just that, messangers, and trillian does a perfect job at JUST that. Plenty of custom plugins as well, even system stat ones

I've got Yahoo, IRC, AIM, MSN, and ICQ all on with a few chat screens open and only uses 12MB of memory.

I used that for a while. Interface is easier but I liked the options of trillian better...that and I've been using it for so long it's hard to switch. "Old habits died hard" |

Trillian +1.
Used it for a long time. FreeDiver, just be aware it has severe problems with hebrew.

Well if you ever get a mac I would recomend adium. Adium and pidgin share one of the same developers. Both use libpurple.
I don't know anyone who uses icq. Is it more popular ooutside the US and Canada. I add someone to IM it is always MSN (aMSN actually for me). Once in a blue moon I come across someone uses yahoo.

you can encrypt messages in gpg with miranda too (via plugin).
don't know about the trillian encryption. and isn't trillian kinda dead? like no updates in years?

lmao where you been, it's updated every few months, last update was back in july this year and it's not really needed to be updated because 1) most bugs are fixed and 2) astra is comming. |
