I'd like to see more coop games too.
Only suggestion I can give (besides the ones already mentioned in this thread) is SVEN COOP for Half-Life . I know it's old but it's still enjoyable...

The problem with adding coop in many games today is that most have some sort of cutscene or base story about a single protagonist and adding coop would mean either messing the story up or just causing a confusion (imagine 2 gordan freeman's walking around or 2 Sam Fishers).
Coop is mainly only possible to be added when the protagonist is an unnamed hero or the coop mode changes the basic story to include a second character (usually can make a supporting character playable).
Saddly, it is mainly because of laziness and development time that more games do not released with Coop. Many games are being developed in a year or less time, very few take the extreme length to make anymore.
Here is a complete list of all the available Coop games..

About HL2. Playable Alyx and gordon characters would be very nice. Valve has not released any info on the multiplayer part so it could be possible.

actually the sven co-op team http://www.svencoop.com/ has told of plans of making hl2 co-op as they did the orig. hl2 will not be co-op out of the box. i think i did hear though that valve is giving them a headstart by sharing some code and such with them even before release.
