I can't figure this out. I tried to run both HF2/Portal and Timeshift...and both don't work. My screen goes black and then I get monitor errors saying "not supported mode".
I am running Vista 32 bit...8800 GTX card...new forceware drivers 169.04. I should have no problems running the games...EE6600 Dual core processor...2 gigs RAM.
Any ideas what to do?
Stranglehold works fine....
I really appreciate anyone's input.
My monitor is a Samsung 26 inch LCD...if that helps.

not really....I don't understand those posts. I don't think there are any specific samsung drivers for my monitor.
Why would other games work and Timeshift, HF2 ep2 not....seems weird.
right now...everything is set to 1360 x 768 resolution...60 mhz refresh rate (only one listed for that resolution).
should I change this?

1360x768 isn't a widely supported resolution, I've only seen a couple games that actually were able to use it, go up to 1440x900 or down a couple notches.
what's your monitor size and which monitor?

the games most probably want a higher refresh rate than 60, so use a resolution that you can run on 70 or 75

going above that for and LCD can damage it. I use 60 on everything so it's not the game wanting more.
