I haven't played anything in a while, but now I decided to get this new expansion and LAN is simply not working (I cant join the game, no matter which comp hosts it). Singleplayer works fine. Using patch 2.501 (tried without it too) on both computers. Also tried hamachi, both computers get online in the same network (on hamachi), but the same problem happens on COH. I noticed a strange "Incompatible game options" message when I select the game. Screenshot: Any ideas? I get the feeling its something stupid but cant figure out what. Or maybe it just wont work?

Just doesn't work. The devs once stated on the forum they did this on purpose to block hamachi peeps from playing pirated copies, but ended up screwing up LAN in general. There is a fix tho, I tried finding it but couldn't, sorry Sense Amid Madness, Wit Amidst Folly

My buddies and I use OpenVPN for "LAN" gaming now that most of the world knows about Hamachi. It's a hell of allot more complicated and requires someone to run a server, but hey, so far it's worked flawlessly with every game we've tried it with. It even gets through all the 30ms bullshit since I set the IP range it runs on to the same subnet my network is on. Not entirely sure if it would fix your issue though.

CoH does work with hamachi, but you have to jump through alot of hoops, and even then it's not garanteed to work.

Searching again on the subject, I found a post elsewhere saying ports 6112, 9100, 9101, and 30275 must be open in order for it to work with hamachi. I opened them on the router and now it works! Also worth mentioning that the host computer must be running Vista(or XP) if the other players have windows XP, a client using vista will have problems with a XP host. Again, thanks for the help everyone.
