The partition where you have Windows installed is full and the stupid ass installer needs to extract everything to temp. That's what i say.

So? Any ideas why it happens? I dont see any other explanation. There is a registry solution in pc games arena section (Fear PE thread).

The registry fix didnt work for me, unless you got to reboot to make it work? Which I didnt bother with, so I just free'd up 7,7Gb on C: so I could install it on D:.. :/
Then when it had finished copying all the files etc, I got an
Unhandled Exception
Error Number : 0x80040702
Description: Failed to load DLL: GameuxInstallHelper
Setup will now terminate.

Nice huh? LOL I kinda hope Hatred's release isn't retail.. Kinda hard to patch the installer on the DVD for retail buyers..

Gonna check now and see if the game will still run despite that error before setup finished...

Another way to fix this installer problem: (if your not comfortable with Regedit.. this is not for you Razz)

1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit , and then click OK.
2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
3. In the details pane, right-click the ProgramFilesDir registry value, and then click Modify.
4. Change the value to the drive where you wanna install the game. Save the original value first.
5. Without closing Regedit, install Fear.
6. Once the install is done change the value for ProgramFilesDir back to the old setting and close Regedit.
7. Crack the game and have fun

edit

BTW. ive started to use the "mini-image"
game runs better!!!, als no weird full-system crashes anymore(random)

Enjoy
