I don't care about how good a product is. I care about the company and how they represent themselves.
Like dell, I hate them with a passion because they act like their the gods of prebuilt systems when they can't even tell their face from their ass.
Intel makes me think they just want everyones money. Theres only 2 CPU's as of not for windows computers. AMD and Intel. Those who know about computers know this. Intel knows this too. Theres no reason why I have to sit and look through shitty intel ads everywhere I go acting like theirs 23495304 different CPU's to buy.
AMD doesn't advertise nor have I ever had to sit through a commercial made by AMD. IT may be shitty marketing on their end but that's not important to me.
Nvidia prob does advertise in their games but they've been kicking the shit out of ATI for years. Maybe not in performance but in driver stability and power consumption etc. I have my 7900GS KO overclocked to the brim. Runs at like 39-45C. I had an x800 GTO that could fry a steak on it with how hot it was getting considering it was just displaying my desktop.
I'm not saying core 2 duo's suck dick, I know their the kings of CPU's atm. It's just Intel that I have as much respect for as I do Bush. I don't support companies I don't like. Just like you won't see the day of light I buy into Ubisoft or EA

Hey, you know I hate EA and Ubi with passion too, but hell, if a day comes and they actually do something good (for the PC in the case of Ubi), then I don't know, I might actually buy it (don't shoot me).
About the CPUs, don't know, maybe cause I live in IL, and we don't have many Intel ads (actually none at all that I remember), so I don't care about the ads, but I tbh, I don't think I'd care if they were advertising on every commercial break. I only care for my video encodings to go as fast as possible, code compile to be as fast as possible and get the highest fps in game as I can with my budget. For now Intel allows me do just that. Back in 2005, when I bough my 4000+, I used to laugh at people with P4. I hated those stupid pos CPUs, but C2D is just great.

Don't watch TV that much either... I dl all my shows from the net and only watch crap at night when I can't fall asleep, so not much commercials during late night.

That's cause people who don't know jack about computers buy dell. So they can get away with shitty prices

that is true, so its fucking great if you need good support. I mean, they are the only company that actually come home to you and fix the problem, whatever it is. If they don't got the tools, they go back and get them. But then again a little extra in the price. Most palces you got to ship it back to where you got it, or deliver it manually. I don't like how dell work.. they are big and will probably try to get monopoly and raise the prices even more. They got ALOT of companies under their wings all around the world. We get our stuff from Ireland, and soon Poland. They had so big problems to deliver, so we had to wait over a month to get screens we ordered. We got around 700-800 Dell screens around town.
Well, without HP there is no doubt they would be the ultimate chain.

You´s what we call a fanboy
Nah, but on a more serious note, i rarely see any Intel ads around here, then again, i never watch TV. But i cant recall seeing barely any Intel ad anyway. And besides, every company needs ads, some more, some less. And yes, ive seen AMD tv ads here too.
So what if they advertise alot, atleast their products perform. Unlike shitty game companies, that advertise their games as revolutionary, then after payin $50 (for those who are into that), you realize it´s fucking bullshit. THAT pisses me off.
That and fucking mainstream pop-culture, like mtv, radio, mainstream fuckass movies etc. All that can rot in hell for all i care. Goddamn small minded, corporate-pimped, money-making whores.
So no, aslong as the hardware performs, i dont care what brand i buy. Be it AMD, Intel, nVidia or ATi. Ive owned more than one product from all of those companies. And will own lots more
Watercooled 5950X | AORUS Master X570 | Asus RTX 3090 TUF Gaming OC | 64Gb RAM | 1Tb 970 Evo Plus + 2Tb 660p | etc etc

Ive been with AMD since my first 486 DX40 back in 1993, they had the fasted CPU out there not that long ago ... but thats not what matters.
What matters is price/ quality , you always have to buy what you need in performance at the best price possible , since 90% on this board cant throw with their money , its important.
And a CPU of Intel and AMD at the same price , the AMD one is usually faster.
Yes intel has the fastest CPU for now , but look at the prices , 999 dollar for a quadcore ???
ANd intel does it cause they can , imagine if there wasnt AMD , how much more you would pay for a intel , that would even go slower.
In the end its cause of the competition of AMD/ATI that whoever likes his intel / nvidia that he can buy his components cheaper then intel / nvidia would like to sell it for , but still AMD undercuts it .
Also for example a AMD x2 6000+ only costing $160 doesnt mean they only compete in low end market , who even has something faster then that right now ? or what game / app would even require more power ?
I personally will stick with AMD till the end , and i hope that end never comes , but you have to remember AMD doesnt have the finances to fight a price war , or have a bad CPU line , intel can poor so much money into development , and also gets an advantage with unfair practices selling their CPUs to companies / universities , only this week i found out how AMD wasnt even an option for my university ( we talk about 300 Core 2 Duo systems being bought ) after i pointed out how the C2D they bought was getting owned by the same priced AMD ...

Intel is like Wal*Mart. Once the smaller better companies are gone and nothing much left to compete with, their going to jack the shit out of their prices, but I don't see AMD ever going bankrupt. They just chose a shitty choice for the AM2 socket and they'll rebound sooner or later. I'm waiting to see these X3's

Let me guess, you haven't updated in a long time |
hahahaha, yup, i wanted to imply that i havent updated for a while. I m still on an old Athlon XP system.
Athlon XP-M running at 2450 and a gf7800+. So it s still reasonably speedy in comparison to shelling out over 500 bucks for a new system.

I don't care wether I use Intel, AMD, nVidia, ATi or whatever. I buy what's best when I do the upgrade. That means I've had a lot from both companies and I am not a particular fanboy for either of them.
Behold his GLORY! Bow for the technical master!

i always hated intel's way of forcing people into buying new mainboards for minor processor revisions, their fucked up ads all over and their way of coping with the competition (e.g. ads that stated "REAL Mhz", when it was clear for pv-enthusiasts that amd clearly had better performing yet slower cpus). Also a long time the majority of people acted like only owning an intel would be like having a real computer. So i never bought one with an intel chipset. Price-Performance-ratios still are on amd's site for most of the cpus, if you dont want to have the fastest possible machine.
I would have liked it better if amd had bought nvidia instead of intel, because amd/nvidia used to be a great combination for many years.
So i m with Spykez on this one i guess

While I've always liked AMD I currently own 2 computers with C2D cpu's, because Intel have been better at implementing instruction sets which makes virtualisation on a C2D a lot easier than on an AMD X2 socket 939 or AM2, it's really a matter of what I need and who can provide it, but AMD is getting back in the game with their quadcores and once they reach an acceptable price range I'll be getting one.
