|
 |
OK, when I first installed it the game ran fine, when I went into single and tutorial it was grand, went into the battle, but as it was loading the battle scene (after the big map thing) it stalls right as it gets to 100%.
I restarted
Upon starting again now when I go into the main menu the mouse dplicates itself as it moves and so do ALL of the screens I open, so by the time I go to options and single player the screen is a mess!!
I have tried lowering all the setting but it has not helped, the game still stalls.
I am running with a 9800pro
2.8 P4
1 Gig ram
And using the Reloaded version of Rome-TW
I will try it on my second PC once the ball game is over ( dad )

I have DX 9c and I have the same drivers on both PCs and have those windows codex 9 seris.

same problem here. my mouse duplicates all over the place. this is only in the main menu tho. still it would be nice if someone knows how to fix it.
Think I need to update my video drivers. Currently have nvidia 65.73.
I don't get any intro either??? Didn't know there was one.

Found this on another forum. hope it helps.

I've fixed the problem.
Go to control panel and make sure that the box that says "show updates" has a check. Then scroll down to the bottom and uninstall Windows Media Player 10. Don't worry it should roll back to WMP 9. I would download WMP 9 from microsoft (do a google search) and I would also create a system restore point (start >programs>accessories>systemtools>system restore) just to be safe.
Once you've uninstalled WMP 10 restart and make certain that you know have WMP 9 install. Then go to the Rome Total War disk one then extras then redist and install 'wmfdist.exe".
The game should work perfectly now.

Does your game also fail to load once it gets to about 99.5% or is it just the mouse duplication? If its just the mouse then reinstall the thing that is in that quote , I managed to fix that yesterday by just reinstalling everything on the cd from the individual setups but the game still doesnt load the battle scenes
