Wasn't King's Bounty the predecessor of Heroes and Might and Magic? I do remember the game by New World Computing, it was excellent at it's time. Wonder if this has anything to do with it.

From the IGN Preview.

It seems I was right, it has something to do with the original King's Bounty.

Russian release got realy high scores from local media, it realy seems to be quality product. Russian release had Starforce protection, hopefully in international they will swap that crap for something else.

It's not forgotten,it's just that the release will most likely be Q3...august or september.
The site still has Q2,but reading the forums, there is no specific rls date and nothing is officially announced.

Personally I'm hyped about this, got the russian version, but I can't get it to work.

Got Russian version too. It's a clone and it doesn't work so far. It has a new version of Starforce (5.something) which obviously blacklists all versions of Daemon tools (Pro included). There is some talk on Russian forums that the new SF installs itself so deep in your windows that it's going to be much harder to emulate, so we shouldn't expect new DT to work with it. Well, I can wait, no problem. It's not like I have a lot of time to play anyway :/

New crack? You mean there are two? Because I found only one Smile Well, I won't have time to play soon anyway. Anyone cares to write a mini-review? I went through first Kings' Bounty on Amiga in late 80s and I'm very curious how good the remake is. Russian reviews tell it's great...

what is the second way to run the game can you tell me?
i managed to start her the first very complicated way with removing drivers

all Russian media gave the game 90-99% which should be trusted, and i launched the game - its really very warm and beautiful and nice, like an old funny teddy-bear Smile i will play even thou i am a shooter-fan.

IGN interviewed the developers: http://rpgvault.ign.com/articles/822/822477p1.html

2Aurochs second way is some kind of crack (patched starforce drivers i think) that removes daemon tools blacklist

OK, there was a little confusion, but apparently it's only one method - with removing new SF drivers and installing (I guess older) ones which are not blacklisted... Those Russians are pretty clever Wink

Here, download link itself is a bit broken at the moment though.
(GH is a better choice normally as they have a range of mirrors to choose from depending on your location, thus allowing you to maximize download speed. - in theory atleast. )

EDIT: Download link works now.
