In order to use Fraps, he'd also need a DX application that supports his tablet. Good luck with that.
I'd recommend using Camtasia Studio for the recording. It's one of the best screen recording applications.

Do you have problems with the mouse pointer when recording. It's blinking and its harder then to navigate.

Blinking is strange, not supposed to happen.

Maybe my laptop is too slow for this application.
Gonna try it at my PC after work.

Nah, that's what so good about it, it runs on slower hardware. I had it running on my laptop which isn't that good, on Vista, and there were no slowdowns at all. Perhaps a driver conflict?

My GFX adapter is on-board with shared memory and maybe that is why it is slowing down.

you could try reduce videocard hardware acceleration (under troubleshooting tab in display properties/advanced)
it's almost certainly an issue with the mouse cursor being hardware accelerator
you should first look into settings in camtasia for anything mouse related though, as dropping video hw acceleration will reduce overall system performance and will probably impact drawing and capturing of the video aswell
if all else fails, or won't give a desired result, try install third party cursor replacement software, such as cursorXP (apparently now succeeded by cursorfx)
some time ago i had trouble with the cursor disappearing while remote controlling my other windows machine, and using cursorXP fixed it, keeping the cursor well visible, with no noticable performance losses
