Just wondering, since Wild Arms Alter Code: F is on a DVD9, will i be able to burn it and play it on my Ps2 if i buy a Dual Layer disc? My burner has of course support for DVD9, haven´t tried this before though. Is the Ps2 able to read burned DVD9 discs?

Your chip has to support it and you have to patch the image with toxic's DL patch.
But it's still not a gurantee to work, it depends on the game. You just have to try to be perfectly sure. Or wait for others to try.

But why bother? the JAP version had a perfect DVD5 version so this will obviously too.
All you had to do on the JAP DVD9 was to rebuild it with CD/DVD Generator v1.50 and it fit perfectly on a DVD5.

i have burnt a couple of games on dual layer.. worked fine.. no patching needed.. so cant se why you should have any problems

also i paid about £3.50 per disk.. so still pretty expensive

Erm also has it been releleased then? not seen it listed on here or usual sources

Maybe the patch was already applied to the iso you burned? Although, some games work without the patch.
But there wouldn't be a toxic DL patch if some games didn't need it. Wink
God of war for example cant be burned without the patch, same with GT4.

Edit: And remember that if you have a DMS4 chip then you wont have to patch anything because the toxic bios takes care of it on the fly.

wrong. if your chip supports it, you don't have to patch (alltho it won't hurt). patching is only needed when you have an old chip.

i've had a gt4 dvd9 copy work unpatched on my matrix chip, and then i patched a copy for a mate with an old v3 and an old messiah chip, and it plays ubersmoothly for him too.

don't i need some magical illegal thing?

I write dms4 but the matrix chips has support for dvd9 too on the fly as long as your bios is updated to support it, I just forgot to mention the matrix chip, sorry about that. Wink

Also Will depend on the Brand of disc you burn to.... Remember the PS2 is Very picky about the brand you use (Eg G04 Dye) and you could end up burning it and Thinking it never worked when it actually did Wink
