Sorry for starting this again but I just noticed theres an Pioneer 115D, is that better than 112D or worse? Also I would go NEC but they aren't sold in NZ.

For my birthday, since they couldn't find a Pioneer 112D, they got me an ASUS DRW-1814BL, is that any good?

Probably just fine. Anyway, wtf is up with no NEC in NZ Surprised

Its the cheapest best brand there is... iv had a NEC drive for 5 years, never any problems. (except that stupid MSI mobo that didnt like it)

Don't know, the site we have here for cheap parts, www.pricespy.co.nz, doesn't have it even when I search (things like Scythe Infinity requires searching for, I couldn't find it from a list), usually if it ain't on pricespy.co.nz, it ain't sold here.

I see. Anyway, I think you would be fine. Are you going to burn 360 games? I find that Pinoeer talk damn overrated. Could be the laser in the 360, the flash or the program. I use imgburn when im burning Mirror DLs, and CloneCD when I burn Verbatim DLs. Smile

To be honest I doubt I'll be doing much burning if any, just good to know I'll have a DVD Drive that can handle it as opposed to a cheap flawed waist of money, my friend has a Pioneer 112D so if this one did have problems it wouldn't be all that bad....at least mine can draw Sad (LightScribe :3)
