So I bought a new 250GB HDD and wanted to copy all my stuff from the old 20GB hitachi to my new Western Digital WD2500BEKT (7200rpm).
I copied partition 2 and 3. (Of course I flashed the new WD with a hitachi firmware before! )
I followed the exact steps from a guide but when I copied the data from the pc to the new hdd via SATA by using "xplorer360 extreme" and "xplorer360 250gb version" I got an error message. Something like "out of range" or so....
So I tried it again and it worked.
Then I connected the new HDD to the console. it didnt find anything at all!
No profiles, no saves, no nothing! ;(
I formated the new hdd with the console.
I continued in another residence of mine on another pc where i dont have the backup of the 20gb.
So I wanted to make a new backup using xplorer360.
but xplorer360 only showed a totally messed up partition3 on the 20gb hitachi while the 250gb is, of course, empty.
So my question is:
How can i STILL rescue my savegames and my profile and copy to the new hdd?
Funny thing is though, that everything's working fine when playing on the xbox! Should I buy a memory unit? Will I still be able to copy the profile from the 20gb hdd to the memory unit and then on the 250gb?
I only had Forza 3 installed on the 20gb hdd.
Well, I guess I can copy the 2 dvds again on the 250gb hdd later.

Well, I managed to manually transfer everything to the new HDD using XPort360.
Sadly Forza 3 seems to have kind of a protection which corrupts your savegames, so you CAN NOT use them any further on the new HDD as it thinks you have a new console.
Fuck you Turn 10 and fuck you MS.
Now I can play Forza 3 from the 20gb hdd and all the new games on the 250gb hdd.
