Quote:
The guys over at 24C3 just demoed a Wii hack that is set to provide native wii
homebrew in the near future (not running in GC mode, and with full access to all the Wii hardware!)

They were able to find encryption and decryption keys by doing full memory
dumps at runtime over a custom serial interface. Using these keys, they were
able to create a Wii ‘game’ that ran their own code (their demo happened to show live sensor/Wiimote information, amongst a few other things).

... if true:

    WII Media Center
    Games from External USB HDD
    Hombrew games using Wii-Remote

Holy Hell, This would be so great!!! Considering that I have the Wii with the Cut Legs, I dont feel like trying to install the mod chip... This would probably be so much better, especially if they released a soft Mod for it!!!!

GREAT FIND!!!

Latest rumour/update is you'll still need a drivechip (i.e. a current wii 'modchip') to apply any new bios or whatever, and also a linux distro is on the way..

Hope this comes to fruition quickly..

and in '96 people laugh when some one said that any console can be emulated on the PC - and now we can emulate Sega all consoles , Amiga , PSOne (and in the year future have a perfect emulation of PS2) , all Gameboys even DS ... and many many other just give it time , all will be emulated ,

The same will Cellphones that can emulate GBA , Amiga

True, But you are forgetting one thing. Time. Look at the ps2, there is only one emulator and its been in development for what, 5 years? and they still have some way to go before it has a lot of games completeable and without serious gfx errors.

Hardware: Ryzen 3700x, B450 MSI Gaming Pro carbon AC, GTX1080, 32 GB 3200 Mhz cas 14, 256 EVO SSD, 1 TB EVO SSD and 4 TB HDD.
Console: xbox, wii and xbox 360

Why would you need an PS2 emulator right now? Most games look quite crappy right now. If you haven't gotten to play the good PS2 games by now, you won't play them anyway sometime later.

The hardware right now can barely emulate PS2 so we'll wait for a 360 emu :/
