does sound that way, though it does seem a little weird that the psu would cause a problem connecting to the net, when theres so many other things that the psu would seem more likely to cause problems with...

Well i thing the net thingy is a whole another thing, nothing to do with this. Anyway i was afk for about 30 mins sitting with my laptop in the living room and when i got back just recently i was at the windows login screen. like my computer had been restarted or something or maybe even shut down again with no reason. I am begining to believe that it is indeed my PSU that is broken. Are there any tests to check if something is wrong with it?
edit : ok seems like my comp shuts itself of every 5-6 mins so i'm on my laptop atm. I am gonna go in bios and check around on temps etc to make sure and if everything is ok there i'll go use the warranty of my PSU to get a new one.
Anyone got any other ideas?

Overheating springs to mind...again (another thread with simillar symptoms)
Get some monitoring software like Everst, Coretemp(only CPU but good) and Speedfan etc etc. If you can, open and check that any fan is running as it should.

software related? a virus maybe?
try to boot a linux distri from cd/dvd and see if it crashes, too. if not scan your hds, or format and reinstall.
any new things on your usb ports? maybe something that consumes way more than the port is specified for? can be a reason, too.

I think i got sisoft sandra, problem is that my comp might shut down after a few mins but i think a few minutes is enough to get some temps. I can measure the electricity input as well. Well gonna go and test some stuff now.
update : checked the temps, everything seems fine there. going at MB is at 37, cpu 36 and gpu 54. gonna look at voltages etc aswell.
Awe : good point, i took out my usb stick and im gonna check how that goes. The virus theory might be true can't tell for sure. I got ubuntu on cd so i can run that and see what happens. And with what should i scan my HDS?

USB Stick could be shorted USB port, check to make sure all your USB ports still have the plastic covering and if not, none of the pins are touching - I remember my laptop once had broken plastic on the usb ports and one of the pins bent over, and the laptop wouldnt boot. Couldn't figure out for the the life of me what was stopping it.

Could of been set to automatically restart rather than display a BSOD? I'd check your usb ports to see what they share an IRQ with and if it's a card you can move to another pci slot then try doing so, also worth reinstalling or updating drivers if that doesn't work, but it's ok now just worth bearing in mind of the problem resurfaces..
