I been looking for almost an hour now for a "GOOD" oc guide. There is a lot of 8800GT/GTS guides etc (no wonder). Or if someone could tell me what would be a "safe" setting on stock cooling.
have a EVGA 8800 GTX, CC 576 MHz, SC 1350 MHz, MC 900MHz.
Just fiddling around trying to get a better 3DMark score here....yea I am booooored!

There is no "safe" setting, each card can clock differently.
Back when I overclocked a lot I clocked the gfx in 10MHz increments until I got artifacts, whenever I hit the artifacting frequency I went down 10MHz again in speed and left it there.
Behold his GLORY! Bow for the technical master!

Cheers, atm i am OCing @ CC=660MHz, MC=1350 (stock is CC=576MHz, MC=900MHz)
Not to bad...but still my 3Dmark score is not more then 11861 (was 10756 when i started out 1h ago ). I guess it has to do with that I am not running a Quad Core. Oh well, no bigy, but still BOOORED!

I think RivaTuner can now individually OC the shader clocks correct? The core speed has always been limited by the Shader clock rising in unison. So if I understand this correctly keep the shader clock where it is or a little higher and rain hell on the core?
The GTX gets it's biggest gains from OC'ing the core as opposed to the memory.
