So the time has come to castrate our 2nd cat today, "Kong". "King" our 1st cat was neutered like 4 months ago or so. As he already was over 2 years when we did it ( i know a bit late) he had to get a double shot of anesthetics, puked all over the place when he woke up. My fear is the same is gonna happen with "Kong"...feel a bit sad somehow, but better that then him peeing all over the place. "Kong" is only 9 months so he should be alright, but still

Jar, you can't castrate a female.
Females are spayed.
Males are castrated.

Well if you don't do it...you gonna have a hell of racket + the smell. I like to think that if you have...especially cats indoors, its more of a favour to castrate/sterilize such a cat.
Just some facts

Anyhow just came back from the vet. She said he took the anesthetic shoot very good, did not even jerk. Will pick him up at 5 a clock.

Good luck.
I'm sure he won't need it though.

not spaying/castrating a cat when they have to sit at home and just deal with their urges without relief (ie getting fucked) is cruel as well.
also their are health benefits, especially for female cats, for not having reproductive organs (they don't get mammary cancer).

@CaptainCox
Your cat looks like my first cat snoppy. Usually puking isn’t that common I think. I helped my vet spay my hybred, skidoo. 7/8th wolf. He was nervous about how she was going to take to the anesthetics and was nervous she might be confused and agressive. She passed with flying colors. What surprised me about the whole thing was how caual it was. Oh the anal gland when off after she woke up. That is the stinky.
I think all pets should be fixed. The pounds are full of unwanted dogs. My friend has a dumpster kitten. Someone threw a litter of kittens into a dumpster and they all died but one and she took it. SPCA kitten. I got my current dog maxim done. I don’t want him knocking up some bitch.

i have a cat that looks exactly the same as yours! but mine only has one eye (he had an eye infection when he was a kitten that wouldnt go away after around 3 treatments so the vet thought it was best to just get rid of the eye)

Today hes up and running like nothing happened
Eating tons of food and playing like mad!.
@snop1050, ouch!. This one also had an eye infection but we went the vet the same day we spotted it, and next day it was gone. Even did a Herpes test, they can get stuff like that from the Mother.
Anyho, all is good that ends good!

Its not so much as love more, its like they are part of the family, no joke!. I always had Cats, got my 1st one when I was like 6 or so, Siamese named Tintin, he lived 16 years. My mom also used to breed Burma's, and I am talking competition cats now, she stopped some years back as it was to much. She gave the last 2 females she had to my bro and my sister.

uuuhm, usually human relationships dont involve the castration or neutering of your beloved ones.
Even PetA members usually arent that friendly to their animals...
