OK so I just got my Abit back from the store, apparently the BIOS was stuffed and it works now but while waiting I tried out my old Gigabyte that was giving me problems which I fixed only after buying the Abit, hasn't given me any troubles until I got home from work today so I was wondering if it would be best to stick with the Gigabyte since I've settled back in with it and keep the Abit for backup purposes or should I use the Abit. (I know it's kind of stupid to run everything by what people say on the forum, but I'd kinda rather your opinion on which is better/which chipset is superior, mostly for OCing but since AMD ain't that great an OCer, other pros)

I can't tell for the OC nor about the performance of the nForce 630a, but i would take the HD Audio of the Abit over the AC'97 of the gigabyte.

my last Abit board was a lemon, but as a general rule of thumb they're very good, altho gigabytes reputation has increased a lot over the past 12 months! I'd prolly go with the Abit as well tho Smile

I used to love Abit back when they made GOOD products, well ok they are still making good products I just feel they lack the extra stuff Asus and many others include as standard.

As for Gigabyte they make some kickass motherboards nowadays.. Smile

Behold his GLORY! Bow for the technical master!

208,000 votes, $80m worth of products rated, over 93,000 items of hardware were rated, 100,000 items of software were rated, combined with 14,000 ISPs rated, they got reviews from readers and www.overclockers.com.au, www.whirlpool.net.au, www.atomicmpc.com.au so I don't think it would of really taken as long as it would seem. Fujitsu has the best notebooks while Acer and Benq failed, Apple, amazingly took the crown with PCs and Acer and Compaq crashed and burned, Samsung won LCD Monitors and Mitsubishi and Polyview died, Dynalink got good wireless routers and D-link got worst, Seagate got best hdd, Samsung came second and Maxtor (I thought Seagate bought them out?) got last, ASUS got best graphics cards, EVGA, BFG last, Gigabyte and ASUS are once again reigning supreme as best manufacturers while Lexmark and Compaq are doormats.

Now more ontopic, I got a Xaser case and Lanparty harness today (Hey there was a 40% off sale, sides, it has no window, those are annoying as hell, stupid weak plastic...except Armor, mickster5000 has that) so I'll start using the Abit today and give my dad the Soprano because his computer almost has no PCI slot covers (I forgot their names, you people are the pros) and missing a DVD Drive slot cover so has crap airflow.

P.S. Sorry for going offtopic but just thought it might b interesting to know that Surprised

OK now I hate Abit more, first off the BIOS chip was stuffed or some such, they replace it, I get it back, I put everything together again, I turn it on, nothing happens again, it turns on but no POST, nothing, I send it back, they find out its the BIOS again, they fix it and send it back, I get it back, wait a few hours for XP to install, I start installing drivers then oh! I gotta go online to install the audio drivers, great, so i install my modem driver (I have an ADSL modem card for $20 instead of a $200 router that would only be used for 1 computer, hey I was poor) then i try to connect, it keeps saying error 721, no response, I put it back in my dads computer which has a sempron and I had to deal with all that time, makes me treasure the AMD 6400+ Black Edition 3.2ghz all that more, and it works fine as you can tell by me posting here now, so now I've just had enough of Abit, I've had problems with Gigabyte, ASUS have been fine, but nothing compares to Abit, unless someone has suggestions I'm off Abit.
