Alienware wraparound screen on display at the Pepcom Digital Experience event at CES

Quote:
The curvature of the 2880 x 900 rez screen mimics peripheral vision, and in action the performance seemed pretty flawless to our Crysis-dazzled eyes (official specs report less than .02-millisecond response time).

To me it looks like "rear projection" so I guess the quallity is not the best...but still.

EDIT: It is rear projection and a prototype, but should hit the market later this year. That's at least what they say in the vid.

Laughing @ Crysis running at 15fps Rolling Eyes How dumb can you be to put that game on such resolution?

And to be honest, this looks like a dumb gimmick, don't know. It will make some waves when it comes out but it'll be forgotten together with some other unuseful stuff.

I don't like it. I've been trying to think of what it looks like and for the life of me I couldn't work it out.

Then I watched a film. Something from the 70's. Then it dawned on me.

It reminds me of those 70's sci fi films where they try to predict modern technology from around about this time and get it totally wrong.
Thats what this monitor looks like. Something from a 70's Sci fi show.

Can't wait for the homebrew versions of this monitor popping up on the web. You'll have boneheads trying to curve their LCDs with heatguns or some shit. lol
