I was wondering why this game took so long, it was supposed to be on shelves a week ago.

I never played PR1 but I hear the series is original and fun, so I'll give it a shot

why? as long as a clone works id rather have it. and just because its a clone doesnt mean u need to disable drives. thats only to bypass the starforce 3 protection. a good clone = true crime.

Figures. So much for CloneCDs being the end-all be-all anymore. Kickass looking game, the first one was great (but finding cracks for the patches were a pain in the ass, since it was a low-key game). Got a lot of hope for PR2. Looking forward to a verified working version, even if I have to burn the rars to a disc to keep a working copy. Cracks for lesser known games are a freaking pain :(

Yah, well I'm not saying it doesnt work - it doesn't work for me (and I'm not just some n00bzor lamah who doesn't know shit), I'm hoping someone else can post if it works for them, or any idea wtf my problem might be - because right now, I'm stumped. It uses VOB ProtectCD protection clearly, and some modified version of it, so it doesn't completely surprise me that problems arose, but that doesn't help us.

Mount - exactly as the NFO said (though it's details were kind of vague, most clone releases have a bit more of information), and tried with the newest daemon tools as well, not sure if I want to burn it yet (the fact that it doesn't work as directed says why should I waste a CDR if it probably won't work there either)..

Have you tried mounting each image file included? (example, sims 2 had .bin, .ccd, and .cue, but you had to mount .ccd because .cue wouldn't work)
Don't have the game just a suggestion (and daemon tools)

Yup, but theres only an MDF and MDS, and basically, when you mount the MDF, it'll mount the MDS - it's just the way Alcohol works.

Yeah, I think they may have screwed up the image - as it's protected with ProtectCD, would require a 1:1 copy, and I don't think this is it.

Anyone else try it?

man, looking at the GFX, you can see it has been rushed to try and get it out before Sid Myers Pirates. Still it might tide me over till that arrives. Wink

Uninstalling daemontools did the trick for me, before that I got 'disk verification error' no matter what I did - but now it runs.

And this IS the game...it´s a BIG problem for many, so please hall kaften you moron!
Any how...I have tried everything that´s been said in this and other forums, but I still only get this f*cking message of disc verification! What gives... Even they who buy the original has the same problem!
Hope that someone comes up with a nocd crack or anything...

Kind of hard to separate the game from the protection these days, especially on a forum that deals, however indirectly, with circumventing the nature of copy protection. Starforce 3 isn't the only opponent, I guess. The Sims 2 and this are definite examples of that.

Jack, you just made me sad again. I haven't had the time to play this yet, but my hope was raised earlier and then dashed again. Hopefully it wasn't a waste of 800 megs of bandwidth. I hate wasting bandwidth like I hate wasting gas...even though bandwidth is nigh-infinite, and gas is not.

Hehe the scenarios really help, lotsa useful tips, had a hard time manufacturing more then 1 item though, so im sticking to selling sugar, have 250k and a few ships running trade routes, this game is pretty addictive.
