I am looking for FPS games that dont need 3.0 to run.
If someone could throw out some for me i would appreciate it, i dont geta new video card for a couple weeks and i need something to play, I have just played through portal which i liked and i dont really care for HL2 or the expansions.

There's a SM2.0 patch for Bioshock as well if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah it's great if you want 15 minute loading times.

There are no 15 minute loading times in BioShock, Jenni is trolling.

There are, when using the SM2.0 hack, because shaders have to be cached each time there's a loading.

I never had loading times above 5 min or so and my pc is bad (3500+ 1GB GF6800GT). Must admit that i have not finished the game yet but i was very far in the game.

Probably because the 6800 has shader model 3.0?

* Bioshock
* Colin McRae: Dirt
* Clive Barker's Jericho
* Kane & Lynch: Dead Men
* John Woo Presents: Stranglehold
* Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas
* Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent
* Spider-Man 3
* Lost Planet (There are 2 versions of the game -- one for DirectX9 with Shader Model 3.0 and one for DirectX10)
only games that need shader model 3.0?

Yes, SM3.0 only, though as stated previously, you can play BioShock via a hack.

I think Snop was being a smart ass lol.
Btw last I heard about the 2.0 hack for Bioshock it's buggy as hell and a lot of missing textures, unless they got it fixed?
I believe most games before Splinter Cell: Double agent were SM2.0 compatible. UBI was the one that started the trend.

It's better now, look OK (considering it's an amateur show of force), but there are some issues that can't really be fixed. I wonder why 2K doesn't just hire those dudes on provisional basis and provide them the tools to make it good. All they need is the shader precaching tools.

No, technology did.
