|
 |
Im looking for movies with nuclear fallout / war theme. Only movies that are available (that is - in the internetz), exclude Mad Max which i got on the DVD (all 3 parts). If someone would have a lead where i can find such movies send me a pm please. Currently im looking for Steel Dawn but no luck.
Much appreciated.

oh, forgot about all the anime
the wind of amnesia is still one of my favourite postapoc anime movies
http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0108570/
'ergo proxy' series was postapocalyptic cyberpunk (world is a devastated wasteland and civilisations living in domed cities)
be sure to watch 'second reneissance' parts 1 and 2 of the animatrix shorts
brilliant
they should have made the sequel films about that instead of the piece-of-shit ones they did do

Saw "Threads" on the weekend and i must say it's really depressing and scary as hell. Still great movie/document.
If anybody has got or knows where i can find "Chosen Survivors" (1974) PLEASE let me know! It's generally speaking a movie about a nuclear strike, hiding in a shelter etc. A rather B class movie (~ 5.? score on IMDB).

Not necessarily they have to be bad. 28 days/weeks was cool, even tho it was a "zombie movie".

oh, don't get me wrong, i love zombie films, but they're not postapocalyptic in the sense that all these other ones are
more like a genre of it's own
but in zombie films the same problem exists.. 99,9% is utter poo
28 * later were good, romero's * of the dead trilogy and shaun
not much else

BBC.QED.Nuclear.War - A.Guide.To.Armageddon.
Not quite Christmas fair, but I had to stay awake.
Anyway I have to warn anyone watching it that it pulls no punches.

Hahaha I was thinking that's gamma radiation you're smoking mate.
But you're right about that documentary, it really is horrific.
Based upon a single megaton weapon, but briefly mentions the 30 bombs that would undoubtly fall on London. I very much doubt he'd be smoking his cigarettes after that.

Wowow thanks Jenni!
Still i STRONGLY recommend "Threads" (!!!) and "The War Game" (a bit more candy, but still recommended). Para-documents (with a bit of a plot and few characters) that really HIT you.

"The Day After" is worth a look , its very watered down and no were as hardcore as Threads. Also "When the Wind Blows" is good. I found this interesting reading on the same theme.

nobody mentionned the madmax movies. inspired many classic games/movies
PS: i remember Carradine in a cheesy serie where he got tai-chi/aikido powers..sort of chuck norris on anti depressors. that was laughable.
