Sucks here too. We often find letters that belong to us in our neighbors' mailboxes.

Depends who. UPS is one of the worst places to ship your stuff. Theres a reason they ship for dirt cheap. one of the assholes left my 250 dollar case out in plain site. Fed Ex and USPS are by far my favorite. Hell UPS even sent my shit out from one side of the state to the other only for it to end up here in the middle. I think they do that shit on purpose cause they don't want you getting it earlier, they want you to get what you paid for.

Canada Post is really not that bad. FedEx is really reliable too, we ship exclusively with them at work.

I <3 fedex. They delivered my 19" WS Syncmaster and instead of leaving it on the door when I didn't answer they went into my backyard and left it on my patio.

I live in a building so they either drop it off with my super in the lobby office or leave me a note to get it at the post office 5 minute walk down the street. Never had a problem not getting shit.

I'm sorry to say that I work for the actual postal Service (in Sweden). It's my way of paying my rent while studying.. anyhow.. first thing I was told when handling (private sent) packages was "if it says fragile..throw it harder". Thats the attitude among many at the place I work at. I personally don't do it that way.
We only break 1-2 packages per shift, and thats not much in the big picture. (~0.001% or whatever)
I have never received a damaged package in my life (Ok, maybe once when I was 8 years old or something). So even with that kind of attitude things rarely break.
But things ordered (electronics and stuff) are mostly processed differently than private mail, and the "throw as hard as you can part" doesn't fit there.
Squirrely: Now come on y'all. We can't waste time arguing. There could still be survivors out there. We need to hunt them down, and kill them.
Beary: How about we kill them, and then rape their bodies so we can use their blood as lubricant.

Quote: | It's official: mail is slow as snails
2 hours, 31 minutes ago
WARSAW (Reuters) - It's official. Postal delivery is as slow as snails, at least in Poland.
An IT worker, after receiving a letter on January 3 that was sent on December 20 as priority mail, calculated that a snail would have made it even faster to his home than the letter.
Daily Gazeta Wyborcza said Michal Szybalski calculated that it took 294 hours for the letter to arrive at his home. He also said the distance between his home and the sender was 11.1 kilometers.
Given the distance and the time, the speed of the letter was 0.03775 kilometers per hour. Szybalski calculated that a garden snail travels at around 0.048 kilometers per hour. |

Yeah, but mind you it's not any official boss speak or something. This where the guys I where teamed up with at the beginning. You don't want them grabbing your private sent package on a bad day.
If it says "glass" or "fragile" I try to put it down as gently as the time-frame allows. Keep in mind we process a shitload of packages everyday and we got deadlines. But don't worry to much, this is a small percentage of people among the mass working there. But still, to many.
Heres some of the shit people send:
Dogshit (smeared in every god damn letter in the mailbag)
Fire crackers (Need I say that every letter in the same mail delivery is destroyed)
Filled condoms (Ye seen it twice, once with a really smelly load! yuck!)
Dead animals (Hamsters, birds, rats)
Sick letters (Describing murders and shit, with pics and stuff)
etc.
