its strange but lately when i try to install games they seem to hang on the install screen i mean they do the isntall but simply stuck in the middle of it and stills how the screen as if they are still coping the files to the hard disk i have no idea what could be the problem and im running on a very powerful computer
can anyone help me out
im running on vista

A faulty hard drive. Vista doesn't fail installations.

I agree with LeoNatan - never had any problem installing anything in Vista.
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

but it happens to me only with assassin creed game so far and only another time on a different game so far it works fine i mean s the installing of games i cant seem to get it why the game stops at install just hangs up
could there be a problem with the image?

OK, Here is a could work solution, saved me problems installing before, Hold down Windows Key + R, In the run box type %APPDATA%, rename the "InstallShield Installation Information" folder to "InstallShield Installation Information 2" and then try re-running setup, I've noticed in the past installers can get corrupted in this folder and mess everything up...

ok will try your tip i don't think its a faulty hard drive because i don't get crashes or blue screen or any other errors installing software just games and it just hangs in the middle of the install so will try and let u know

Similar to what yoyo said.
Try renaming
C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield
to
C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield1
It will create a new dir during your next install attempt.

Perhaps UAC is blocking file copying if it's installed into any of the restricted folders, that is assuming you haven't disabled it.
