The Orange Box: 1.5 Million Console Sales, Significantly More On PC
"Valve's Doug Lombari revealed to Tom's Hardware that 1.5 million copies of The Orange Box were sold for consoles, and significantly more were sold for the PC:
Rob Wright: You released The Orange Box for both the PC and the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles. Were you happy with the business the console versions did, and how did it compare to the game's PC sales?
Doug Lombari: We were very happy with both the Xbox 360 and PS3 sales. I think the Xbox 360 version did just over a million, while the PS3 [released later in December] version did a few hundred thousand copies. So I think when all is said and done, The Orange Box will have sold about 1.5 million copies on the console, which is great. But the game's PC sales were much stronger.
Rob Wright: How much stronger, exactly?
Doug Lombari: I'd say significantly stronger, at least a two-digit percentage increase over the console sales. And that includes Steam sales, retail sales, and now individual sales of Portal, Team Fortress 2, and Half-Life 2: Episode 2. So when you take the PC numbers for The Orange Box a la carte, they're significantly higher.
Doug also confirms that PC gaming isn't dead, and that third-party titles are selling extremely well on Steam. Thanks Igor."

NO! I'm shocked, a package that contains 100% pc games like half-life and the game that is even more pc because you have to think (portal) sells more than the console version, why!!!!!
I'm surprised this even got ported, they should feel honored that it did.

Here's an interesting piece of info then:
According to the Steam site; Call of Duty 4 is selling more than The Orange Box at the moment, i don't know exactly what time periods we're talking here, but i'm pretty sure it's been like that just since release.
So i guess we can conclude that Call of Duty 4's sales might not even be that bad as Infinity Ward wants to make it look.

Duh, you're not seeing any other company giving out sale figures either, infact Infinity Ward didn't even do that.
