question, is there a way to convert the DVD releases (Shadow Ops) to CDs? if so what would I need? my friend doesnt have a DVD drive.. so hence the question. I wonder if all games will start coming on DVD.. anyone know of big titles coming strictly to DVD, or will CD be fine for the next little while (MOH Pacific Assault, HL 2, STALKER) mainly those 1st person shooters type games.

dont worry, big titles like those will come on cd's and maybe dvd also but not just dvd. the reason is simple, you will earn more money if you release it on cd's.

Why don't you just take your DVD drive round your friend's house to install the game? Or bring his PC over to yours and install over LAN?
Anyway, in a couple of years all games will be on DVD, it makes economic sense to use 1 DVD instead of multiple CDs and games aren't going to get any smaller.
tape>floppy>cd>dvd>superdvd = natural progression.

i d just copy all the rars onto cds and let your friend mount the iso with daemon tools. You ll need to have ntfs as filesystem though as fat32 doesnt support big files like dvd-isos. Everything else would be too troublesome (getting the regkeys while installation and burning the hdd files to cds and stuff and changing the exe to work with the cds, etc etc etc.)
