Flying today at 13:55... I will try to get some sleeping pills at the pharmacy. The good thing with this trip is that I am going to Taiwan (Taipei) for 4 days, never been there so that could be cool. Gonna peel my eyes for some PC HW stuff
See ya on the other side of the world.

Will for sure get some pics from Taipei, got a whole weekend there + Mon and Tue working.

It's 19:14 here, and I just woke up from my good night sleep... Probably gonna stay awake for the entire night, and because I have to go to uni tomorrow, tomorrow as well... Same boat as you. I have problems sleeping too. Haven't taken any sleeping pills yet, though.

So been walking the streets of Taipei the whole day today. Went up in the worlds tallest building called "101" WOW! amazing.
Then off to a place called "NOVA" its a heaven for PC freaks, stock full of small electronic shops etc. But here the good story ends sorta.
They basically don't have the "latest' stuff...strange but true. And as soon as they see that you are a foreigner the prices for some reason goes up with 20-50% from stock price.
I found a ASUS 780i board for around 230Euro, not that big difference to back home. So in terms of tech shopping its been pretty crap.
And compared to Japan Taipei is really gray and a pretty dirty place...chaos springs to mind. You also have a lot of houses that looks like they just collapsed or are about to .
I will upload some pics later (going to this Chinese Theater thingy as my female colleague wants to see some local culture ...na, i guess it will be ok) and she has the camera.

Finally got some pics uploaded, sick as a dog (bird flu or somet) but here goes.
The 101, 508 meters of high tech architecture. Also the tallest building in the world, completed 2004. The shape of the building was inspired from the Bamboo
There is a observation deck at 384m for some great views of Taipei
View of Taipei from the 101
5.5M Diameter sphere in solid steel (mass damper), it acts as a counterbalance in the 101 in case of earthquakes or strong winds. Its supported by giant hydraulic struts and hangs of 40cm thick wired cables.
There is a huge shopping mall annexed to the 101, its stock full of designer shops like Dior, D&G, Armani etc etc. 5 floors of extreme luxury shopping.
In contrast to the 101, this is what many parts of the city looks like
Typical street shops, full with computer and hi tech goods.
If mainland China is all about bicycles, Taipei is all about scooters!
The Taipei Eye. Traditional Taiwanese puppet theater, might look silly, but totally awesome. These puppeteers are real pros. After a while you forget they are puppets.
One of the dancers from the Taipei Eye. Beautiful makeup with traditional Chinese costume.
From the dance show at the Taipei Eye
Part of the ensemble greats you in the interlude between the acts.
NOVA center, a collection of over 120 hi tech shops under one roof. Still did not find what I wanted though, I guess the stuff that I wanted is not even out in Taiwan
Will work in the morn (if I can as I got this dam cold ) seeing a supplier for plastic tooling, yea I know it don"t sound that interesting, and I guess it aint, but its part of the job. Fly back to Japan (Nagoya) on Tue evening and finally back home on Friday.
