As for prices...no clue at the mo, but I would guess not to cheap and not to expensive, the top of the line will probably hit 1000$ or so. But you will also need a new mobo and DDR3 RAMs to run the new CPUs. So all in all I guess you are looking at something around 1000-1200$ or so, that's not using the high end CPU but rather a mid ranged one, if one can call an octocore mid range that is
Yeh, the problem with "cores" is that the program needs to be program to utilize more cores that 1 or 2...
Example :
I wrote at the Forum (Atari) about "optimizing" programming for more than 2 cores and the Admin said they wont optimize any programs to support more than 2 cores, because not many have them...
Well, thats BS because IF you have a Octo Core CPU and each core goes only at 1Ghtz and the game needs at least 3 Ghtz to run then the game will only go 2Ghtz from only 2 cores and the game wont run/work...
Or have I missed something ???
