Broken heap of garbage this. It was released in Alpha state back in January..when I played it last November it was still what I would consider early beta. Not missing much.

With Sigil now gone, although SOE may work a bit to patch it up, anything that would have made it unique will get mainstreamed as well. No saving grace for this title unfortunately.

have to agree with ya. i bought the game, played for 2-3 weeks. but it was so fucked up, the world was stiff and some what empty, the pvp was meh at best. the bugs was awful, for instance falling through the ground and ending up at all level 50 mob place as level 30 and get killed wasnt all that fun. quests where bugged, also a big lack of quests. travelling between diffrent isle was fucked up, since for instance, as an lesser giant you hade to go to the enemy factions capitol to travel to dark elf isle, and that usualy ment instant death.

conclution, i would rather play tetris for the rest of my life then ever start this game again.

Why it was never allowed to be released is a mystery.

I think there could be a saving grace and it would for the game to go free to play with a cash shop or something like that. That would bring a lot of new players to the table and may give the game a new breath of life. I'm not into MMO much but i would probably try the game if it happened.

I don't think it will ever happens though , at least until a few years imho. SOE is too greedy for that.

and you till forget how you'd need a freaking monster of computer to play the thing. It was horrible optimized. I dare to say Vanguard had one of the worst releses ever actually. But Sigil ran out of money and had to release something, and there for it went the way it did...sadly, because if you penetrate thru all the crap you see that the it actually could have had potential.

Worst release ever would go to World War II Online. Sorry.
EDIT: well, you did say "one of". WWII online was HORRIBLE. At least in Vanguard, you could log on.

I've never had any problem with logging on to ww2online and the game works excellent for me and have done so for the last two years. So imo I have no idea what your talking about.

A cash shop? You're joking right? What merit does an MMO have that's "free" , yet relies on you paying money directly to acquire items? Only in Korea do they come up with twisted logic like that.

I really had to shed a tear for this title though - I had so much faith in the team. It was headed by the father of the title all of our MMOs today owe their lifeblood to - Everquest.
Who could have seen that Brad, while a visionary in one sense, had the people and business skills of a leper?

So much could have been done here. It's a real shame.

Not sure how the release was in WWIIOnline. But now it's a great game I must say. Vanguard well...it's sad, they really needed more time. They had great visions which they could have fullfilled if they got the time. People won't stick around in games like this until they're fixed either. Sadly you see the potential with the big world and everything....

I hate players who still argumenting with facts that are older then my grandma Sad

Vanguard has gone a long way. But now in its current state its really good.
The performance has much increased (with a 8800gt there is no problem to get 30-60 fps with 1280x1024 max details + 4AA and 8AF)
There much much much more quests and the game is much more "newbie"-friendly as it was at the release.

There are still some issues and bugs in the game (like in every MMORPG) and SOE patched the game so that it is a little bit more causal-friendly. But thats okay because thats the only way to increase the amount of subscribers right now.

The game is far from "perfect" but its something different then all the extrem causal-MMORPG like AOC, WoW, LOTR and Guild-Wars.

Im thankfull to SOE, that SOE bought the game. Without SOE the game would allready be dead.
And im sure, that Vanguard will go on for some time. Subscribers are increasing and now while the most and biggest issues and bugs are gone, SOE has the time to create much more content (now SOE has to tools to do it.. sigil had NO tools.. the build every single dungeon by scratch...)

So please - dont complain over games you dont have played for over a year.. you dont know what happend in this (long) time...

Vanguard playing - LvL 50 Sorcerer since release (with 4 month break)

I tried to play WWII online a long time ago, but it could only be paid with creditcard iirc.
Could have been a fun game but i never checked again.

At that moment the Devs are working on a "Trail-Island". Then there will be a offical Trailversion of Vanguard (in about 6-8 weeks)

Till then the only way to get a trailkey is to ask in the offical forum.

The people who ordered the "normal" Version got 1 trailkey extra
The people who ordered the collectors edition have gotten 10(!) trailkeys

My trailkey is allready gone.. so sry.
