Does anyone know how to remove a DW58QA dvd/cd combo drive from a Sony Vaio VGN-FS415E Notebook?

The drive is not reading CDRs. Its fine with DVDs but when I try to read a CD, it just makes a horrendous "trying to read" noise but always fails. I have done everything possible to eliminate it being a possible software issue. It even fails to boot from a CDR so the problem isnt Windows based. Im convinced the drive is faulty and I can get a replacement but I just dont know how to dismantle the notebook.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bummer it seems most optical drives now actually only have one screw holding them in.

Ive seen that site earlier today and contacted Sony who quoted me £150 to have the drive replaced which is a bit of a rip off I think! There is indeed one screw on the underside whioh I believe holds the drive in but even with that removed there is no way to remove the drive that I can see.

Edit: Ah found this! These pics should help! Smile
