Just use antiseptic lozenges (Strepsils) and you'll be fine. And drink lots of lemon juice  |

But sometimes you NEED them with a bacterial infection. Not viral or cold.

If all natural medicine (lemon, honey, salt warm water) fails then you go to the doctor, ask him to swab your throat, and after lab analysis the doctor will give you proper antibiotic if needed. If you take antibiotics without doctors supervision you could mess up your system (in colon you have 'good' bacterias e.g. ), especially if you have viral inflammation it would be silly to take antibiotics as they would do you harm...

its passed now, yesterday I had a look in the mirror and had swollen tonsils, but nothing too scary looking. I have a numbish feeling now, and it no longer hurts etc. Think it must have been a flash nasty viral infection of something.

If that persist just go to the doctors and ask him to remove them  (a lot less messing with them next time)
