Great in theory. Not great when some guild decides to be a bunch of ass-hats for a few hours.

Does that mean you deside to be either PVP or PVE ?

Cause the game looks great however I`m not really a fan of world base PVP but if you deside youself then this looks great

"For the first time ever we at Star Vault are proud to announce the title of our project: Mortal Online!"

hrm, so this is the first time ever they are actully proud of an title?

anyhows, trailer was kinde of cool, tho summer 2009 noway. also as ppl say, no pvp zone are good in theory, but when you got the biggest guild on the server deciding that they are bored and want to off a bunch. well then there will be problem.

secound, real time combat system (non tick based) is great. as long as you dont have 700 ping to the nearest server as in wow.

Music in that trailer was epic. Looks great, but is the world really ready for all those MMORPGs coming the next few years?

Yeah, the mmo market is pretty brutal these days. It's make it or go down in flames.

Atleast they are going for a very particular playerbase, I see this game competing most with Conan and Darkfall.

The latter being pretty much vaporware ^^

Small Update*

Playable Race, Half Orch

Thieves, traitors, beasts. The fear of the half orcs has brought them many undesirable names. As sons and daughters of the unspeakable crimes committed in the wake of a war, the half orcs’ life stories are often stained by tragedies. The majority of the half orcs are doomed to roam aimlessly in a world where the full blood orcs look upon them as weaklings and the civilised world despise them as witless barbarians and fear their orcish heritage. However, few surpass them in strength and stamina, on the battlefield or in the arena, and the non-human heritage in their blood and mind make even veteran soldiers cautious.

Game Convention in Leipzig, Germany

Star Vault will be attending the 2008 Leipzig Games Convention. The Leipzig Games Convention is an annual video game event held in Leipzig Germany. With over 180.000 visitors it's one of the biggest game events in the world.
Take the chance to meet some of the Star Vault dev's and drink some german Bier!

Star Vault goes to America

Star Vault will be going to America to visit Epic games in July. The trip will be an opportunity for Star Vault to get to know their American colleagues better, and discuss how to further improve some of the main features of Mortal Online.

Extended Partnership With Epic Games

Star Vault has chosen to expand cooperation with Epic Games to include Epic Games China. The purpose of this collaboration is to develop the best possible network solution for Mortal Online using Unreal Engine 3 .

Ending notes

That´s all we have to offer this time. Don’t forget to check the forums for upcoming releases and other fun stuff. Don’t forget that the developers are also active on the forums whenever possible, to read or answer your questions.

On June 29 we will open up our shop for pre-orders of the game, also giving you access to the Beta Phases.

A dev stated on the forums that you're charged immediately upon preorder and it is non-refundable.

Ok, the video looks good - but considering we still don't know much at all about the gameplay/content/stability, this looks like a shitty and risky deal to me, and these kinds of 'offers' always suggest to me that the company doesn't really have much faith in its product and merely wants to cash in on the ignorant and over-optimistic consumer.

The game is now available for 'preorder' from their site store. 75 USD, more if you're in the EU - and it's not even a collectors edition.

Shocking.

Any gameplay vids, screenshots, a rough description about what the hell its actually about and what it brings to the table that is totally different from other MMOs. Probably not worth 75 USD lol.
