They were sold to Gamespy/Fileplanet ages ago, so this was not unexpected. Haven't used them for years really, as there are so many better alternatives out there.
Still not fun to see Gamespy/Crapplanet consume the market.

What do you use for getting demos/patches? I use Internode Games Netwrork, it's almost always in full speed and almost always has everything needed.

Yeah, Gamershell are aight, but whenever there's a high profile release, all their servers jam @ 100% load.

no other place offers their speed without jammed servers, no lines, no pay for crap.
I've only had horrible speeds once....and later after waiting for 2 hours for a patch to download...i discovered I had my newsleecher running.....

No lines you say? Perhaps for the US (landz of ze fr33). For me (and many other worldwide users), it often says "DL unavailable" because all the traffic for my country is used.

oh well that sucks!
But ya, I just go there, find the shit I need, click the download button and max out my connection, every time. I've even emailed them giving them props for keeping it free and line free and said they had no intentions of ever doing it that way. But...buisness is buisness so im enjoying it while I can, and have been for the last couple years. |

Internode are Australian I think, but they have almost everything, so I'm happy with them.
Edit: Lol, seems Internode is an Australian ISP, and as a bonus they have this site for games lol. That's why they never run out of bw.
