So are they jaking us and will just say "This count down* or is this really it.
The counter thing is to the upper left.

In the past days there have been a lot of activity in the network sites after the countdown teaser. A few forum threads keep continuous debate between Diablo fans of what this announcement will be. I have given a few responses of what it is not, to make sure fans won't be thinking the wrong thing. We have made no claims and expect fans to not get caught up with the wave of speculations and rumors in the forums and the web to the point to believe them.

Uppdate:
Update (3pm): The XFire WWI page has been edited, removing the Game Announcement part. For those skeptic, I took a screenshot before it got edited. I learned to take screenshots after Legendary Pictures pulled a similar stunt (removing and editing Diablo from the Films Under Development section).
- If you are wondering, I contacted my XFire liaison around noon. No response as of 3pm.
- Also one of my Blizzard liaisons. Blizzard has not made any press releases concerning a Game Announcement.
Original Story
XFire either accidentally posted there would be a Game Announcement based on the rumors sprung from DiabloFans.com and Blizzplanet, or they know something and oops ... slipped it. Did XFire confirm there will be a game announcement?
As usual, I will communicate with my XFire and Blizzard contacts for a comment to clarify this new rumor. Stay tuned for updates.
At this point, this is still considered a rumor -- keep that in mind. Blizzard has not made any official announcements concerning a a game announcement at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitationals.

Somthing si going downm all the diblo3.*** is either dying or redirect you to some blizzrd site.
Okay so I'm going to try and compile a list of sites and where they're redirecting people.
www.diablo3.com - Redirecting some to DiabloFans, others to a dead link.
www.diablo3.net - A (german?) D3 fansite.
www.diablo3.co.uk - Redirects to battle.net
www.diablo3.fr - Begins to redirect you to the Blizzard website, followed shortly after by a "Down For Maintenance" page.
www.diablo3.es - "Page cannot be displayed"
www.diablo3.eu - "Page cannot be displayed"
www.diablo3.de - Redirects to the D2: LoD page.
Anyone want to correct/add to this?
I get the following Up for maintanace page for the .es and .eu
and the rest is as you said, and yes it is a german fan site

According to what I can see on http://www.whois.net/ both of those sites are unofficial, would be strange to see such a major announcement outside official Blizzard sites.

Anyway , hopefully if they do make it they will keep the classic isometric 2d view except with better graphics. Something like Titan Quest except even better. Also , hopefully it will stay free to play online as well. I won;t even bother if they go the WoW route. |

3) The next Diablo (probably titled Diablo III) will feature a single-player component (akin to previous titles) and an MMO component (less akin to previous titles), will be announced sometime next spring summer and is still on track for release before decade's end.

Who says it won't be an official Blizzard site?
For all we know Blizzard is buying back Diablo3.com so they can announce it.

Indeed. A site merger or a site layout update doesn't cut it to have all the fuzz going on. It would be a cheap hoax if a site did all this for a mere layout change. I emailed a few key gaming sites. And the countdown teaser is spreading and gone viral faster than meant. Some may be wrong in their speculations, some may be right or close. And shooting down layout change, merger or book rumors will certainly stun a few into thinking frenzy.
Relax and wait until May 1. |

I was told about 2 years ago from someone reputable (His brother works for Blizzard) that they had already been working on Diablo III for some time.
Gave me a few details. . . but I took it with a grain of salt. He didn't know when it would be released or when it would be announced. Maybe he wasn't pulling my leg after all.

Well it is only a matter of time before Diablo III will come out I highly doubt they will never make the game. But I wouldn't take this may 1st thing to seriously. I just hope they don't make it into a MMORPG like WoW

Umm hate to burst your bubble, but Titan Quest was 3D... Diablo 2 used Sprites, if you think Diablo 3 is not going to be in 3D, and still be using sprites, then you are smoking some powerful crack, and I want some.
However if its 3d in a isometric view just LIKE Titan Quest then I am in... an I am sure thats what you meant...

I doubt that will happen, Diablo basically created a genre of its own within the rpg genre. So if they will be making a sequel it will definitely still be in a, not necessarily isometric, top-down view.

Ahoy there, fellow Diablo fans!
Well, there's no point in beating around the bush any longer, so let's get right down to it. A few months ago we were contacted by Blizzard in regards to the Diablo3.com domain name. While they appreciate all the work that's been put into running this big Diablo fan community over the years, they still want the domain name. Hmm, I wonder why? Now before you get all up in arms about it, allow me to explain a few things.
First off, this fan site isn't going anywhere, it's just getting a new name: Diablofans.com! Blizzard is actually being really cool about it, giving us all the time we need to make it a smooth transition before we hand the old domain over to them. So be sure to update all of your bookmarks and point 'em to diablofans.com instead. Your user accounts will all still be perfectly functional and, along with this new site name, we'll soon have a big site redesign up and running as well. A new name, a new look. Huzzah!
