*EDIT* Don't get too excited about this, there are no models so far, no maps, and it's buggy. So yeah you can delete this post lol.

OK guys here's how to run an Half-Life 2 Deathmatch server

open half-life 2 with console

in console type in
net_start
sv_lan 0
deathmatch 1
maxplayers X
map (maps * to list maps)
restart

That's it.

Imagine gravity gun in multiplayer... right now just waiting for maps to be made...

well let's see.

It's nothing to do with the emporio release.

It's nothing to do with Half-Life going gold.

It's nothing to do with the other random half-life threads.

The deathmatch shit is posted on previous threads so yeah it actually does. All other threads may or may not be about the game due to the thread-title (gone gold/epimor/nogrp/ilikclit/ etc/) but the game discussion is still in there so creating a new half life 2 based thread is quite pointless Very Happy Just because the main subject differs from the others doesn’t mean a new thread needs to be made. Hey Alyx is prolly the only video game character I’d gladly fuck. But still that fact doesn’t mean I have to make a new thread.

I still dont get why they decided not to make a 'real' option for MP games.. are they gonna release a patch for that later? (and charge you extra for it?)

Actually, whats hot about alyx is not her appearence, but the way she is acted and animated. Thats where valve have done something special. Any computer game can have some stupidly proportioned female character from some modellers wet dream but it takes alot more effort to actually give that character personality and presence. Smile

My guess is that they wanted to 1.) concentrate on the single player and 2.) get it out to the fans as soon as possible (given the situation with everyone complaining that it was late)

I heard that instead of starting up on a new big project, they're going to do small side projects, one might interpret this as.. hl2 dm in any case, I'm sure a mod with the hl2 weapons will be making an appearance soon! very excited. 99.999% sure they wouldn't charge. This is what they did with original HL... first it was just HL DM... then they kept releasing stuff periodically.

Sorry to break it to you but modellers dont decide the breast size of women in games, sales and producers at publishers decide that.

There are mp maps. 2 actually as stated in the main post there is a link with the maps... I tried them... it's fun but ok ok ok i need help with hammer i haven't used it in a year or so (made a few maps back in my day) so how do i set it up and all that shit?
